I engage many on social media and I found out they have a very deep sense of entitlement, and they seem to lack the ability to take responsibility for their failures as a people. How can they be made to realize that as a human you are responsible for your actions?

What sort of examples are you talking about on taking responsibility for own failures?

Often Nigerians look out for themselves because governance is a complete failure and don't demand their rights.

In SA and many other countries people expect government to perform because what else is it's purpose?

I say this because I see them blaming foreigners for selling drugs to their kids knowing fully well the criminals selling those drugs are capitalizing on the failures and inability to raise their kids properly? We had people that do bad things around my area growing up as kids but we were taught to avoid those people and we did. Strong parental upbringing would have gone a long way in solving this drug issue. If there are no buyers, there will be no sellers.
Secondly, I see them complaining about foreigners taking their jobs. They go about chasing foreigners from their spaza shops and looting the shops dry. Isn't it a shame that foreigners come to your country with nothing and within a while they work hard and acquire properties only for your people to say they are taking jobs from them despite laying around and doing nothing?
All I see are your people lazying around doing nothing but drinking and taking drugs only for them to turn around and blame others for taking their jobs and selling drugs to them.
It's crazy you guys aren't seeing the damage you are causing to your image in Africa and the entire world. The few voices of reason amongst you are usually derided and ridiculed by the brain dead unthinking mob. All news outlets around the whole world now broadcast negative news about South Africans.
You may not see the damage yet, but it will surely manifest in the most devastating way. It might even take two generations to repair the damage done.

So you think SA parents don't educate their kids on the dangers of drugs? Can they be everywhere, everytime? When Nigeria had a codeine addiction pandemic was it solved by parenting or through harsh govt intervention? That's what SA people are calling for - less Nigerian drug dealers in their communities.

The issue of jobs isn't limited to spaza shops. Go to restaurants, hotels, security, trucks, farms - most industries that could be employing youth have opted to hire cheap labour instead of unionized South Africans. SA has something like 60% youth unemployment. Illegal migrants are reserving the wage gains black South Africans fought for against white capital after apartheid ended.

Having Africa's highest recorded unemployed and crime rates is also denting the country's image. These protests are aimed at addressing that and illegal migrants contribute hugely towards this.

Harsh government intervention didn't stop people from taking drugs. A junkie will always find his way to get his fix. Train up a child in the way he should go when he grows up he won't depart from it. Till today, I dare say I don't drink neither do I smoke nor take any substances all because of the training I received from my parents and community guidance.
As for those jobs many employers complain that South Africans are very lazy and show up for work anytime they feel like and absent themselves at will. Which employer would want such sloths in his company? Even your fellow South Africans have started complaining that South Africans are not taking over the businesses being left behind by foreigners so what's the excuse this time?
You are talking about South Africa's image being dented because of unemployment but I don't think images of south Africans looting shops, attacking people they call foreigners, chasing kids from schools and chasing people out o hospitals does your image any good, in fact your image is forever damaged.

What I said is that people will travel in spite of whether their country is successful or not for whatever reason

My guy parents caution against smoking and drinking alcohol but that doesn't deter kids from experimenting. The problem is the readily availability of such products. If your community is infiltrated by Nigerian drug lords who are actively pursuing kids then no parent can guard their kid 24/7. Hence the solution is to get rid of the drug lords who have the police in their pocket - which is what these protests are about.

As for employers preferring saying South Africans are lazy, it's just an excuse to hire cheap labour. Big industry in SA is run by South African employees who pitch up to work and are highly productive. Just recently SA overtook Kenya as the most competitive country in Africa. All this talk of laziness is a fairytale by people aiming to break SA law. The law states clearly that South Africans should be first preference to be hired and paid a living wage. Businesses operating out of the system do otherwise. Which is why they get looted when people protest against them to take them out of business.

Also, these undocumented migrants you're defending are breaking the law by working in non-critical sectors. The law states foreigners should be employed for critical skills unless they're refugees. Are waiters, shop attendants, truck drivers, Uber critical skills?
