Sorry my response may be long, but it's based on my own personal experience with both cars as I have used the Camry before and I drive the Accord now.
I am using the 05 Honda Accord (EOD) 2.4l engine which is exactly the same engine 06/07 (D/C) uses and I can tell you that the Honda is way cheaper to maintain than the Camry. Complete engine and gear of the Honda is not even up to 1m (930k and it definitely will go lower if I decide to swap the one I'm removing from the Accord which should be at least 150k to 200k deduction, so do the maths), but the gearbox of the Camry alone is over 1m, engine is also over 1m as well. Fuel efficiency is the same, both the 4 cylinder and V6 of both, then, the Accord has a better performance than the Camry. The Camry 4 cylinder is notorious for oil shortage. Some might say the Camry is stronger, but I do not agree to it 100%. I traveled from Idiroko, agun state to Eleko, Lagos state 3 weeks ago, just as I got to Owode (like 40 minutes into the journey) , I noticed my gear slipping, but I ignored it, drove it like that for over 2 hrs to Eleko, only for me to reach my destination and saw I had not even a single drop of transmission oil again when a friend wanted to go drop his babe and gear wasn't loading again. I left the car alone till the next day to cool down, bought the Honda original ATF, put it and at the first attempt, it engaged without issues till date. I'm not sure the Camry can be that forgiving (later got to discover that ATF was leaking from the shaft and a #3500 seal was what got it fixed).
The only advantage I can really point to is that the Camry has a higher resale value than the Accord, but every other thing, speed, balance, comfort and maintenance, and more driver friendly, the Accord come out top. Do I need to say the Accord has less fake parts than the Camry and it's less of a thief magnet than the Camry. Both the Camry and Accord of that year are notorious for power steering issue, but with less than 90k (brand new) or around 40k (to refix the damaged one), you can fix that of the Honda, and you need around 160k for the Camry if not more.
I know some will always say Honda dey pull leg anyhow and I can tell you for free that it's a very big fat lie because it won't just pull without prior notice of more than a week sef, so once you hear a strange noise, attend to it ASAP, especially when it's coming from the leg area to avoid pulling.
I know some Toyota fan boys will come for me because the won't bother to reach the area I said it's my personal opinion and it's coming from my own PERSONAL experience with both cars.
Well said, I've used almost Honda halla, bull dog, baby boy, DC, evil spirit and presently the 2017 model and I will pick Honda over and over again over Toyota. You will hardly see Honda engine give way unless used by a complete idiot.

Honda have better engine but bad suspension which is not fit for Nigerian bad roads, the ball joint issue makes Honda 1998 to 2011 models bad choice for Nigerians, but if you can pay attention to details and change the ball joint whenever you hear sound or intervally and also keep spare in your car, then Honda is a good ride.

Honda have better interior that look more luxurious than Toyota.

Toyota beat Honda in suspension (car legs area), and maybe in Air conditioning.

Honda beat Toyota in interior beauty, beautiful design and engine durability.

But because of bad Nigerian road, Nigerians usually prefer Toyota cars, especially Corolla and Camry

2003 to 2006 Toyota Camry have very terrible brakes, you will keep having issues with the brakes lol.

Also Honda Accord 2003 to 2005 do have transmission issue (gear issue), which was corrected from 2006 to 2007
You said Toyota beats Honda in the AC department? In what planet is.that? Homda.AC.is by far better than Toyota AC. I use Honda Accord, and all my friends use Camry...the difference is clear.

LMAO😅😀 😁 I used to feel this way when I first started using Honda and had a bad mechanic. Just drive safely, don't enter pothole anyhow, and you won't have ball joint issue like that.

Well described issues every familiar Honda user should be aware of and kinda support the write up being fair enough to both side.
After that personal preference of style comes in.

@Watcharena please follow this advice. I have used both cars Camry 2005 and Honda 2007 DC and exactly all I would have written is what is written here. The leg pull fear is also addressed here. If you decide to go for the Honda, please stay off new parts for the legs. Imported fairly used part never pulled through out my 4 year use, but the only time I bought the new part, the two legs pulled within 2 weeks apart, the first after just one week of fixing it. You will enjoy the Honda more

Cutezt:
I own a DC too, and it's a very good ride, never had any major issues. In fact, as someone said up there, my gear oil was leaking too, without my knowledge. By the time I got home, trying to drive inside, the gear was slipping. I checked and found out the gear oil was empty. After I bought original ATF gear oil and put, and rectified the leak which was a bad seal, it's over a year now and anytime I drive the car, no issues at all, parts are relatively cheaper too and less likely to be stolen, especially in the southern part of Nigeria where they are fanatics if Toyota, but in the north, OYO, cos before you see 2 Toyota's there, you would have already seen 10 honda's.

There was a time my estate drainage was being fixed, we couldn't drive in for almost 2 weeks, in that 2 weeks, 3 of my neighbors camry and matrix was broken into, their battery and stereo was stolen, my car was between the two cars, but they couldn't open it, I saw that they tried to manually open the bonnet from under cos I saw marks after I opened my bonnet, but they were not successful, but that was the same way they accessed the Toyota cars.

I just laugh, car wey be say the day a car wash guy mistakenly broke my key fob, car no gree start cos it thought it was a thief trying to steal it, even with spare, I had to call a key guy to program it from scratch. If e dey lock him owner out, then wetin be thief fate?
At the bolded.
I used to tell people, me wey get the car never gree open am finish, e go come be outsider/thief.
Car that if you're not careful, it will refuse to open/unlock.

@op.

I have driven both.
Anyway sha, this is my first Honda.
The last 3 cars were Toyota.

Avoid that particular year Camry. E get why.
Toyota wins in suspension, no doubt. Honda uses soft suspension. And then maybe ball joint issues ( My model (CRV) is not the type that has ball joint issues. So, I can't relate.).

But engine, balance, interior, exterior etc Honda wins.

that car is far better than the camry of it generation. Having used Toyota in the past, Honda are very good value for money, similar or better reliability and performance.

The original ATF has the Honda logo on it and has DW-1 ultra on it and it's around 32k to 35k (may be less or more depending on location).
I've been trying to attach the picture of mine, but it's not loading, but I already picked a sample picture on Google.
