Gbajabiamila Aware Of My Appointment - Prince Adeniyi Insists by Newsgeek24(op): 6:15am On Jul 03
Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the man accused of posing as the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and Presidential Economic Advisory Council, has denied any wrongdoing, insisting that Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, was aware of his appointment.

Adeyemi, who is facing allegations of impersonation and related offences, said the matter was already before the court and expressed confidence that the judicial process would clear his name.

Speaking during a telephone interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, he dismissed suggestions that he was evading justice.

“Not at all,” he said when asked if he was running away from the law.

He added that he was prepared to face the legal process, maintaining that the court would determine the truth.

“Definitely, if I am wrong, let the court of law do that; if I am right, let the court of law do the right thing. Since the matter is in the court, let the court of competent jurisdiction vindicate me because I am ready to clear my name.

“Let the court take its course. Since my lawyers are involved, everybody will follow us, they will monitor the whole thing. I have a letter of appointment. However, since the matter is in the court, I won’t be able to say much about it. I am on medication. I am a bit down, I am sick,” he said.

Responding to a question on whether he considered himself a criminal, Adeyemi replied, “No, I am not a criminal. However, the court will do justice to that.”

Asked whether Gbajabiamila had knowledge of his appointment, Adeyemi answered, “Yes.”

When further asked if he received confirmation of the appointment through the Chief of Staff’s office, he again responded, “Yes, let the court vindicate all those things.”

Addressing Nigerians, Adeyemi questioned the allegation that the agency was fictitious, arguing that he could not have operated publicly for years without official backing.

“I want Nigerians to know that, for one second, let us assume the agency does not exist, would I have the temerity, the audacity, to be going all over the country, meeting the heads of ministries, departments and agencies, if I knew that the agency did not exist?

“No Nigerian can dare do that. I could not have summoned the courage to be going from one place to another for almost three years. Nigeria is not a banana republic,” he said.

The Presidency had earlier dismissed Adeyemi’s claims, describing him as an impostor and insisting that neither the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council nor the Presidential Economic Advisory Council exists within the structure of the Federal Government.

It also stated that Adeyemi was never appointed by President Bola Tinubu and is currently facing criminal charges over alleged forgery, impersonation and the use of forged presidential documents.

I think Gbajabiamila should step aside pending when all the controversies relating to this issue is fully investigated and resolved.

The onus is on the president to make him do so, otherwise, it raises serious questions as to how deep the conspiracy is and inadvertently suggests that Gbajabiamila may not be acting alone. This is not even the second time similar accusations will be arising involving the Tchief of Staff. Very early in the administration, several persons have alleged that monies were paid to secure appointments. No previous administration or COS was embroiled in similar scandal of this nature. Buhari’s SGF, Babachir Lawal, was immediately suspended by Osinbajo who was then Acting President, when the grasscutting scandal came to limelight. Nigerians are watching.
Re: Gbajabiamila Aware Of My Appointment - Prince Adeniyi Insists by ratcock: 6:37am On Jul 03
Nothing will come out of this scandal for the simple fact that the central figure in the scandal (Gbaja) is a Tinubu foot soldier and untouchable to say the least.
It will be swept under the carpet.

Nothing will come out of this. Gbaja Na the criminal son of the drug criminal, Tinubu. 😂

Nigerians will definitely reject this APC at the polls

Enjoy the nonsense you support, don't act like you want the right thing to be done...

You look at Tinubu finish and decide that it is type of person you want to lead a country, if Nigeria was your family's company , would you allow someone like Tinubu handle it after putting someone there who destroyed it for 8 years?

Sadly people like you supported the destruction and still decided to support Tinubu to take over,

Can you do the same to your family's company?

Speaks volume on how you people hate Nigeria and Nigerians...

All you people care about is tribal/religious supremacy...

If the options are Tinubu, Obi and Atiku, I will surely choose Tinubu. He’s by far better than those trying to takeover from him.

The impunity of some of our Yoruba folks under this administration needs to be checked.
Some are quietly selling off large expanse of lands in South West to foreigners especially Chinese.. is it that they don't give them orientation or what?

Re: Gbajabiamila Aware Of My Appointment - Prince Adeniyi Insists by emkz: 9:23am On Jul 03
Why has he not been arrested?

What gives him the guts to keep talking. Someone set up a government agency, employed staff and received funding, he is roaming around.

Adeniyi should speak more. Anyone found complicit in Tinubu's government should be dismissed and tried.

This Adeniyi dude is the one we know because he advertized himself. Why do we not think that there might be others doing similar things?

DSS, this is a serious crime. Why have you not arrested him?
Re: Gbajabiamila Aware Of My Appointment - Prince Adeniyi Insists by Kelklein(m): 9:25am On Jul 03
If we live in a normal country, people.should have been sacked or resigned by now pending when this matter is decided.. but this is Nigeria.

Somebody higher on the ladder in that Presidency might have facilitated all of these. Appointment racketeering is a deep cancer in that place. As we speak, individuals are still paying hundreds of millions in the hope of landing an appointment in a juicy ministry or as a minister before the general elections.. google the ordeals of people in this regards.

I guess something went wrong along the way, as the whole brouhaha started when an agency wrote the SGF asking for clarity on this Presidential Council that is clearly trying to copy its work.

This Adeyemi guy seems to have this criminal pattern as he was once involved in this sort of thing with the United Nation using fictitious names to game the system.

But then, birds of a feather flock together.

You had to mention the worst of them all.. the same man that was secretly moving 250 milion monthly from Anambra coffers till he was exposed in Lagos is who will stop bribery and corruption.. or is it the vote buying he is known for that makes you think he is the right man for the job?

Is the LAHA Speaker also a foot soldier of the master strategist who leads other redeemed, sinless saints of Oshiomole's Assembly of Past Criminals, APC?

What of Yeye Bello who is APC senate candidate to unseat Natasha Akpoti, despite EFCC Chairman's bragging to prosecute and convict him for stealing Kogi money?

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

Logic, intelligence and education becomes useless when tribal supremacy is all that matters to people like you...
Re: Gbajabiamila Aware Of My Appointment - Prince Adeniyi Insists by Meerahbel: 9:29am On Jul 03
some logical gaps you could point out without asserting facts that haven't been proven:

If the alleged agency never legally existed, how did it allegedly receive a budget code? Budget codes are typically tied to recognized government entities or approved budget items. Who created the code, under what authority, and where is the documentary evidence?

If the agency was fictitious, how did multiple government institutions allegedly interact with its supposed Director-General? Were standard verification procedures bypassed? If so, by whom?

Meeting officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission or foreign diplomats does not, by itself, prove that an agency is legitimate or that a senior official was backing it. What evidence shows those meetings were official recognition rather than individuals being misled?

The existence of an alleged appointment letter, even if authentic, does not automatically establish involvement in fraud. Has the letter been independently authenticated? Was it actually signed or authorized by the person alleged to have issued it?

The argument assumes that because someone reached influential circles, a member of the "kitchen cabinet" must have sponsored them. That's an inference, not proof. Could there have been forged documents, administrative failures, or deception instead?
