Zenith Bank's New Mobile App Focuses on What Customers Really Want: Speed and Simplicity

For many Nigerians, mobile banking has become part of everyday life. Whether it's sending money, paying bills, buying airtime or checking an account balance, people expect to get these things done quickly without unnecessary delays.

That's why updates to banking apps matter.

Zenith Bank recently launched a redesigned mobile app, and one of the first things many users are likely to notice is how much smoother the experience feels. The app has a cleaner interface, loads faster and makes it easier to find the services people use most often.

Beyond the fresh look, the update appears to focus on improving everyday banking. Transfers, bill payments, card management and other essential services are now easier to access, helping customers complete transactions with fewer steps.

In a time when more Nigerians rely on digital banking than ever before, convenience has become just as important as the range of services a bank offers. Customers simply want an app that works when they need it to, without unnecessary stress.

With its newly launched mobile app, Zenith Bank seems to have taken that expectation seriously, delivering a platform designed to make everyday banking faster, simpler and more convenient.

Have you updated the app yet? What has your experience been like?

Talking about simplicity, any mobile banking app that one has to go to the banking hall, fill forms, and wait in a long queue to get it activated makes no sense in a digital economy.

All these old banks should learn from neobanks like OPay, Moniepoint, Palmpay on how to run digital banking.

One more thing Zenith, transaction history and receipts of payment should bear the time payment was made.

Presently, it doesn't.

Yinmu!

I'm just happy that Opay mobile app is giving most Nigerian bank apps a run for their money, from the easy to navigate UI and straight to the point o boarding process, so many Nigerian banks will ask you to visit the nearest branch just to on-board their mobile app on a new phone, I just deh laugh at most of em.

You gon learn.

Zenit bank app is the dumbest of all apps. The earlier version was terrible enough, the new version is totally unusable with their lousy and wack UX.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

No caching of frequent actions, no intelligent detection of bank names which number you typed. You transfer money to the same account everyday yet, you have to manually type the numbers EVERY TIME. And the new wack amount typing that forces you to keep typing because of the stupid decimal points that's totally useless. How dumb can their developers and project managers plus even the CEO..

Even if you don't have the basic common sense for developing decent user experience and good UI, can't you just observe and copy Opay?

And to have the gumption to put up this nonsense post celebrating your mediocrity, it's unthinkable!

Opay, moniepoint, palmpay, kuda, etc are all digital wallets, nothing like banking there.

Can you put your life-savings inside those fintech banks you just mentioned!

Let me educate you:

OPay, PalmPay, Kuda, and Moniepoint are all digital financial platforms. Some operate mainly as mobile money/wallet providers, while others are licensed microfinance banks offering banking services through digital channels.

Kuda is a licensed microfinance bank (often called a digital bank), and Moniepoint operates through Moniepoint Microfinance Bank. They are regulated financial institutions that can hold customer deposits and provide banking services.

Fintechs for digital economy. Old generation banks dragging along with analog services.

It takes less than 10 minutes to activate payment mobile app with fintech banks at the comfort of your home or offline. Whereas you can spend working hours filling forms, staying in a queue in a banking hall, just to activate mobile app.
