Racoon:In summary, Government should increase Revenue by INCREASING Taxes to Individuals and Companies. World Bank forgot that Nigerians are paid Peanuts with respect to Dollar rates. Thus , unless tax is raised to about 80-90% of our income, the wishes of the World Bank can never come to pass. World Bank will never advise Nigerian Government to Stop or Limit Importation of consumables by Instituting Manufacturing Industries. |

Kushites:This is genuinely one of the most intellectually lazy arguments I've seen. Your response to "billions are wasted, diverted, and poorly allocated" is: "Let's collect more billions." By that logic, no level of corruption matters as long as revenue grows. Nigeria already spends a smaller share of its resources on health and education than poorer, more indebted countries. You keep talking about how much money comes in. I'm talking about where it goes. The fact that you can't tell the difference is the entire problem. |

Ezzymadu:Before 2024, Buhari funded the budget through wats and means. We did over N26 Trillion in ways and means alone by the time Buhari was leaving in 2023. 97% of our revenue was going to debt repayment. The country was 3% away from defaulting and economic collapse. If Tinubu had continued on that ruinous path, there would be no Nigeria again by today. |

lawani:As at the time Tinubu took over in 2023, Nigeria was using 97% of revenue to pay debt. It is the same Tinubu you all like to abuse that actually brought it down to about 60%. |

Didn't know world bank could be so stupid. Low revenue? BS The revenue is high, it's how they are being utilize that's the problem. Is Nigeria not the largest oil producer in Africa? Nevertheless, it's the utilization of the revenue acquired that's the problem |

World Bank like any other bank would give reasons why it's customer (Nigeria) should keep on borrowing from them... A country which lack in Energy, fuel, electricity, water, good roads, rail roads, lack of industries, exportation of local commodities and expensive air transport would always have issues generated by adequate revenue. Our government is too lazy to find means of generating revenue. The only thing they know how to do is to tax citizens.... Even when they don't provide basic amenities. |

Eriokanmi:We are talking of production not investments. Local production in agriculture, manufacturing has shot up. It is from statisense quarter one and two. Tinubu through Bank of industry, cbm, bank of agric and Smedan supported over 2 mil small scale traders and businesses. Tinubu wife on her own is doing state by state support. This is unprecedented |

Borrowing in itself is not the problem it's what we use the borrowed money for is what matters most and this particular government has concentrated in building infrastructures like roads, which is very important for economic growth and social progress. |
