The churches can take the perps to court if they can serve them notice. You need to understand the way courts work, if a church is destroyed by faceless marauders who does the church take to court unless they can claim that the state or LG has a tacit involvement in the action and they'll have to prove it.
Sometimes we need to use our reasoning before making ridiculous statements.

You don't need to physically destroy it to prove a point, you can disarm the spirits there, they will start working against the worshipers and priest, soon they will all run away and seek help from a higher power. They in term will go and destroy it themselves. Or you can call on fire to destroy it like Elija did.

You don't just wake up and enter a place of public worship to destroy it to prove something. This is the height of ignorance, intolerance and stupidity.
However the judgement is too harsh. I doubt the damages were awarded accordingly to laws, it seems the judge dished them arbitrarily.
Those primitive,useless, worthless and archaic religious shrines that had kept people in bondage are usually destroyed by the consent of the community that worship them

I don’t want to call u a fanatic or potential bandit but u are not far from them.
U think the pastor should be freed by the court because some churches were burnt in the north. If know the northerners arson, u can report them to police or sue them. Why do we call them terrorist, why did they flee after committing the crime. That pastor should av ran into the bush after committing the crime and never return to the town to escape justice.

You are free to preach your faith and try to convince others to join you, but you are not free to destroy another person’s place of worship because you disagree with their beliefs or because you want to prove your God is superior.

As long as he is not the court of law nor law enforcement agent he has no right to touch anyone even though the shrine is for criminals only the judiciary has the right to do that!😟

I don't support what the pastor did. I am only questioning the believe because of how he passed his message. A Christian must know how to defend what he believes which is Christianity and deal with an individual behaviour separately. How can someone said that Christians are worse than Boko Haram.
