If the ref that officiated the match involving Messi didn't penalize him for it, let him and the VAR officials be questioned for missing that call. That Balogun ankle breaker is a very straight and clear red card that will be awarded 9 out of 10 times in the EPL.

That's a very valid red card. Auba Don collect am before for Arsenal, Xhaka Don collect similar red card too.

Saying it is untrue doesn't make your argument accurate. Both fouls were very similar. In fact with Balogun the Bosnia player initiated the contact, which caused him to lose his balance and land on his ankle. Messi's incident, on the other hand was a straightforward stamp.
