FG Trains Over 100 Northern Influencers To Promote Tinubu’s Achievement, Tackle Fake News

The federal government has trained over 100 social media influencers from across Northern Nigeria on the effective use of social media.

Naija News reports that the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, stated that the training would keep participants abreast of the achievements of the present administration so they could help enlighten Nigerians.

Abdulaziz spoke during the training on Sunday in Kano. He explained that the workshop was organised to equip influencers with the skills to counter disinformation and misinformation.

He said, “The workshop will equip them with skills on how to counter disinformation and misinformation.

“We see a lot of social media videos, AI-generated pictures, and clips designed to create disaffection or misinform the public.

“These skills will help them to use social media more effectively for information dissemination.”

Abdulaziz said the workshop would also educate influencers on the giant strides of the Tinubu administration and on issues that promote national unity.

“These are the areas of focus. That is why we felt it’s important to encourage them and urge them to continue doing what they believe in, because that is democracy.

“Everybody has the right to express his/her opinion on issues and to participate in political or non-political organisations.

“But we see a lot of recklessness in the use of social media. People need to know what the government is doing,” he added.

If had done well, would he need influencers to advertise his achievements?

If he has done well, his works would speak for him.

In other words, Tinubu believes the efforts of Yarimo, Helinues, RichTaiwo, FreestuffsNG and all the other paid APC trolls here on nairaland aren't having the desired impact.

But there's a limit to how you can package and sell failure. A polished turd is still a turd after all. Success and achievements speak for themselves. But when there is none, you resort to training and paying people to lie.

Is nobodys fault if Obi can't sustain influencers to promote his scanty achievements. He only rely on online bullies with zero ideas and poor knowledge about Nigeria as his influencer

I believe the National Orientation Agency NOA should be founded specifically for this purpose of public sensitization

Its very important that the public should be well informed about the achievement of the government. Public sensitization is very very important.

This is another step in the right 👍 direction.

Your good deeds ought to speak for themselves.

Even those hired to speak and disseminate information on your good deeds NEED TO TRAINED in order for them to know that you have actually done a good job. This means that without the training, they wouldn't have known that have done any good job.
