Sunshine34:China , Pakistan and India do not take football serious, plus Obi is running for president of Nigeria, not PM of pakistan or india or leader of China. India and Pakistan's main sport as well as china is academics. |

Dollyak:Nothing to do with genetics. Countries have their favourite sports, which they prefer. Pakistan and India could do well in football if they wanted, but the main money spinner is cricket, and every youngster from there wants to play cricket. Soccer is a distant last in their priorities. Same thing in China. (China routinely does well in field events at the Olympics, and they beat African athletes, wey be genetic mememe? Also, Pakistan and India were dominating javelin recently at same olympics...beating even European mainstays. How far). iF football or rugby could guarantee money or was a money spinner, you go see Pakistani and Indian yooth taking to it. Or to put it bluntly if an Indian or Pakistani yooth sees a young Indian or pakistani guy building mansions in the village and city at age 22 after a successful season at Inter or Man city, you will see them in their numbers take up soccer, no questions asked. But the young men putting up mansions are either cricketers or people who do academically well, or people who jakpa. SO... It is like Kenya and running. Everyone thinks Kenyans are good at running. The truth is, a few guys from one tribe went to Olympics in the 1960's for kenya, won, and came home with medals and kudi. That inspired young guys from that part of Kenya to take up running and so forth. Kenyans can be and have been beaten. Same thing with Ethiopia. There is nothing like genetic advantage in sports. A country's success in sports, nay individial success in sport is dependent on how serious they take that sport. |

Richtaiwo:Ask Obi that CHINA with a population approaching 2 BILLION that has never qualified even ONCE for the World Cup, is it because of.. ? INDIA with a population of 1.5 BILLION has never ONCE qualified for the World Cup despite numerous attempts. HIS FAVOURITE COUNTRY BANGLADESH HAS NEVER SMELT THE WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION. So ARE ALL THOSE COUNTRIES ALSO USELESS AND UNSERIOUS, PETER? |

EponObi:All this you are saying does not excuse our bad performance in sports. APC since 2015, have they improved sports? We have not qualified for fifa age grade tournaments , our clubs are not going for continental trophies like they used to and so on. And your government is not treating this as a disaster. Or you want us to be like Italy that ignored the fire in their house until it was too too late? |

Not blaming tinubu for football, but technically blaming the deteriorating-government for poor decisions surrounding the football federation connecting with the general living conditions of nigerians. Its a quote which needs serious and analytical mind to understand. helinues: |

Kushites:China qualifed for one world cup in 2002. The problem with china is they do well in other sports, and they also heavily focus on academics. As such a failure in football is outweighed by successes in other sports. And yes, China's poor record at the world cup has been criticised. BY actual stakeholders. Yes, some have even blamed the governance and structure. Peter Obi is not running for government office in china. INDIA with a population of 1.5 BILLION has never ONCE qualified for the World Cup despite numerous attempts.India does well in cricket and also does well in hockey. India's problem tend to be that a young poor person in the country sees education as the way out, not sports. Also,a lot of Indians have blasted their country for its shitty performance in sports, and have blamed their government and , especially re football, the AIFF. (I saw a youtube video done by an Indian where he really broke down how corruption and mismanagement have harmed INdian football). Peter Obi is not running for Indian presidency Also, India has issues...power supply, large scale poverty, etc. Their government gets a lot of stick about it. HIS FAVOURITE COUNTRY BANGLADESH HAS NEVER SMELT THE WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION.Same reasons, plus Bangladesh is not a perfect country. [quote]So ARE ALL THOSE COUNTRIES ALSO USELESS AND UNSERIOUS, PETER?Is Peter Obi running for office in those countries? Ye better ask him about what he intends to do with sports in Nigeria if he wins. And yes, bad performance in sports= failure. Even in the USA...their bad performance in the 2020 olympics track events was viewed as a national disgrace by people like Michael Johnson, the former male 200 and 400m olympic champion. Even countries that do well on say the olympic table, get blasted for neglecting other sports. But as I have said, Obi is running for Nigerian office. Whether he like India or china is irrelevant. Even me, I think we should follow China's industralization example, as well as Germany and Japan, and both countries' governments have issues, but you should not then use issues in other countries to excuse the mess APC is making here. Yes, I said it. |

Always criticizing others or other regions except his mob footsoldiers who disrespects, distorts people's histories, write fake histories of other people's authentic histories, who want to force their label on Royal people.... His best bet is to seek appointment with the present APC government instead of trying his luck thinking 2023 will be same as 2027. |

The reason why we did not qualify is because NFF said they will go for a local coach because the federation is broke to hire a quality one. |
