Three persons, including a Nigerian man, were arrested from the service road near Janata Flats in Sector Chi-IV, Greater Noida, for allegedly running an MDMA racket on Saturday.

Police said they seized 143 g of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy. It has an estimated international market value of around Rs 14 lakh.

Besides the narcotics, officers seized a scooter allegedly used for transportation, an electronic weighing machine and Rs 17,500 in cash believed to be linked to the illegal trade.

The cops were acting on a tip-off and they arrested Arun Kasana of Ghaziabad; Atul Singh, a resident of Sampoornam Society in Greater Noida; and Chidubem Stanley, a Nigerian national residing in Uttam Nagar

Greater Noida DCP Ravi Shankar Nim said an initial investigation has suggested that the men procured the drug at comparatively lower prices and repackaged it into smaller sachets before selling it at higher rates in residential societies across Noida, Greater Noida and other parts of Delhi-NCR. The profits were allegedly shared among the members of the network.

Investigators suspect the gang deliberately targeted residential neighbourhoods and highrise societies, where synthetic party drugs are believed to have a steady demand.

Police are now examining whether the accused supplied narcotics to local peddlers or directly to consumers

Police also found that Chidubem Stanley had been previously arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in 2025 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Officers said he was out on bail and had allegedly resumed drug trafficking activities.

A case was registered against the three accused at Beta-II police station under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

The Nigerian national was also booked under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act for alleged violations related to his stay in India, police said.

Investigators are now working to identify the source of the seized MDMA and uncover the larger supply chain behind the racket. Police are also trying to trace other associates, including suspected local contacts and financiers, who may have helped distribute the drugs across NCR.

I believe India police may not be far different from the Nigerian police. Nigeria and India really have long history of hard drugs together otherwise our brothers would have stopped going there.
