Lithium processing plant? Jeeeez! They are going to extract the resources, pollute that area with by products from the Lithium and run. Run and leave the people of that area with cancer, kidney and liver illnesses from the pollution.

The air, the water and the lands would all be polluted.

How did China that built up thiis Lithium plant began their prosperity journey? By inviting foreigners to invest in their country.

You're exporting the raw materials. The raw material is called lithium ore

If you don't have a lithium processing plant in your country then your battery manufacturers will have to import processed lithium despite that you have the ore

The processing plants should come first and things will be easier for the battery manufacturers who are already here. I think one man from Kogi state is already making lithiium batteries in the country

Awesome, Africa is now moving the right direction. We don't have to be slave to the West. God gave us the raw materials, we can enhanced them and make more than turning them raw to the deceitful West! Glad that industrialization has moved to China. At least we can do things on our own terms.

Instead, we're watching the raw mineral being exported while the real wealth, technology, and employment opportunities go elsewhere. We remain suppliers of raw materials and importers of finished goods.

Natural resources don't make nations prosperous—visionary leadership and value addition do. What a country.

You are looking at this the wrong way. When hubs like these are developed, the onus is on the citizen to strategically position themselves to be able to benefit from them.

For example, if oil is discovered as a raw material, you can build a factory or start an oil servicing company to take advantage of that discovery to create jobs and build wealth.

With that, you can join others in building the economy, thereby contributing your own quota to the GDP of the country. We don't have to wait for the government to start building a lithium battery processing company before we take advantage of it.

It is time we start encouraging and partnering with the government instead of condemning their actions anytime they come up with something.

This is not something to be excited about,so we will still buy expensive lithium batteries from china from our own lithium.

It isn't difficult. Agriculture is still a huge part of our GDP. The NW has the second highest number of SMEs in Nigeria after the SW. Look at Ebonyi state, some years ago, say ten to fifteen or less, it was classified as ELDS Educationally less developed state but it is now a high HDI state. There is money in the North to finance free education and free health and thereby increase aggressively their HDI. If they have no money, how come they buy sixty percent of cement when they are 55 percent of the population according to NIN?

Their REAL PROBLEMS ARE THEIR LEADERS. The Northern leaders have been using RELIGION TO DEFRAUD NORTHERNERS for a long time. The North have very expensive mineral resources like Californium, lithium and Gold in commercial quantities. SOME NORTHERN LEADERS have been mining those resources for a long time. Any President that tries to question them, they will use RELIGIOUS INSECURITY to deal with such president.

This time around, only TINUBU has the capacity to deal with them and thats why more corrupt northern leaders will go down in his SECOND TERM. Dont give your votes to people like Obi and Atiku that will release Elrufai and Malami when they become President. That ELRUFAI is TOO EVIL.

You see you are not clever at all. That processing plant convert the Ore to lithium carbonate which is exported. So we are not in the top of the value chain so the number of jobs this will create is still small. What we can make from being at the top of the lithium supply chain is 6 times more than what we will make from just processing the Ore for export.

This is me having a chat with a child because you're literally searching for excuses to make your point just to make this government look bad but in real sense you know that this a good development.....
