3 months ago I planted small portion with groundnut to test. I've never grown it before. Everything went well. It was more than 10x easier than growing cucumber. But as harvest approach, a thief came and harvested everything this morning. The ones I managed to harvest is shown below. This is one of the silent challenges farmers face. But it won't discourage me from planting plenty groundnut, ginger, tumeric and pepper this year. So long as the thief keeps coming, I'll soon catch him/her. With God, there is no problem without solution.

FarmTech:Sorry for your loss, Sir. Farming can be a risky business sometimes. Was the land fenced with a gate ? I have suffered from Plantain theft too. People don't want to plant but they want to reap from where they did not sow. Don't give up on Farming though. Cheers. |

FarmTech:So sorry about your loss, please don't quit. There's so much evil and crime going on in the nation and as long as there's food in your land, thieves will keep coming. I suggest you beef up security in your land. Fence the place if you haven't, get a trusted security personnel and install CCTV cameras. God bless your efforts with a fruitful harvest |

Where's the location of your farm? I wonder why someone is stealing groundnut, after a few hours the hunger will come back. |
| Re: My Groundnut Pilot Farm That Ended In Theft by Soundmind(m): 12:48pm On Jul 10 |
Verry sorry for the loss. This thief is deliberate and cannot claim to be hungry. If he/she is a hungry thief, he/she would have stolen very little. You can use bab-wire to secure the farm. May God bless your effort. |

Maybe install a solar powered cctv system with motion detection. Costs around #100k. Good investment to prevent things like this. |

FarmTech:Nigeria is a crime scene, and everyone is a suspect. I am sorry for your loss, but then again, the government has pushed people to doing what they ought not to do. More than half the population are hungry, yet the likes of paid actors listed below, that are defending this failed government is quite appalling. @WizardOfNG @FreeStuffsNG @Madridguy @Naptu2 @FSBoperator @Helinus @Seunmsg @Parachoko @DomPerignon @MagicBishop @Legendhero @Richtaiwo @Yarimo |

| Re: My Groundnut Pilot Farm That Ended In Theft by FSBoperator: 1:05pm On Jul 10 |
Dshocker:Stop making excuses for criminality. The thief was not just a mere hungry thief as you want to claim as he raided the farm of a cash crop and took more than what would have satisfied his hunger. This thief literally reaped where he did not sow and will be selling the stolen groundnuts in the market for profit. This is not hunger induced but a thief looking to profit from someone's else sweat. |

FarmTech:Next time when your crop is nearing harvest do this Get a small syrup bottle.. the type that is brown. Put very small sand inside and a single Stone Then tie it with red rope at middle and a single palm fond leaf at the bottom Make three or four of this bottle and put it at strategic positions at your farm on wooden poles so that it is clearly visible. Tie the mouth of the bottle with any rope and tie it to the pole It carries no spiritual meaning but nobody will know. Everyone will assume that you did powerful juju on that farm and it will never tampered with That is how I saved my auntie's plantain farm in delta state after years of theft I put just 2 bottlex as described on two trees on the farm and that was it. All the plantain trees started ripening and spoiling right where they were unless she havestec it herself Even if you die nobody will touch your farm if you do this as I say |
| Re: My Groundnut Pilot Farm That Ended In Theft by ElevationD: 1:09pm On Jul 10 |
Redman44:That one can be very annoying. You look at the bunches of plantain waiting for harvest and choose a day. Just one day to go and one thief goes there in the night to harvest. It makes one nearly run mad. The same for catfish in earthen ponds far from your residence. One thief and his gang watch the fish grow and one day get there in the night to harvest fish and escape. Farming has its risks, when it comes to humans and stealing. They never steal with pity. If they steal and leave something, if you do not remove what is left, they return to complete the evil job. May God rescue hard working farmers from the hands of enemies as friends and evil pretenders, who reap where they do not sow. |

FarmTech:Too sad they'll watch you suffer until it's harvest time and they come and steal. I am planning to go into vegetable farming soon and I'll place juju in the farm. I hope juju works the way people say it though. |
