The alliance between Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (leader of the NCNC) and Sir Ahmadu Bello (leader of the NPC) formed the ruling coalition government of Nigeria's First Republic from 1960 to 1964. Forged after the 1959 general elections, this North-South partnership bridged the country's ethnic and regional divides to secure independence. The Foundation and StructureThe NPC, representing the predominantly Muslim and populous Northern Region, secured a plurality of parliamentary seats in the 1959 independence elections.

After a prolonged absence from public discourse, one would have expected that time away might have sharpened Senator Sheriff’s judgment. Regrettably, that does not appear to be the case.

it's like u are high?

Only someone insane will want to replace shetima with kwankwanso, it's u people that create that in your head.

Who is kwankwanso in the north?

Even as presidential aspirant with all the noise he only won kano, so now that he has fought all his comrades like governor, the senators and reps n they are no longer with him

I don't see how he will win kano, do u know the meaning of obi winning kano?

It means the north has bowed to a kafir, u obviously don't know the meaning of politics n religion in the north

With kwankwanso as deputy to obi, I can bet they will only get 25% they won't win

The truth will be a very bitter pill for the disobedient Obidients to swallow.

How logical is it for the Muslim North to vote out a sitting Yoruba Muslim president, & replace him with a a Christian Igbo?

It can never happen in.

Are you saying that because Obi rigged the most in the SE, compared to the remaining five regions?

Unfortunately for the naive politician and his supporters, all the rigged votes were indirectly for Tinubu to have his turn at worsening APC extreme poverty and insecurity shege started in 2015 when he begged Buhari out of retirement to make Jonathan a one term president.

Tinubu is indeed a master strategist of Nigerian tribalistic zoning and rotation politics to share the national cake of corruption!

lexylaw40:
The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."

The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.

"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.

"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.

"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.

Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.

The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.

North and south Nigeria can no longer live in harmony and it's clear to see. It's time for the country to be restructured and split into 5 or 6 countries. We would agree to share the oil revenue for the next 15 years because, we have been together for 60 plus years. The 15 years will allow the individual countries enough time to build the necessary infrastructures it needs to survive, like major roads, ports, power stations, international airports, new smart well planned capital cities, etc. Also the south south will get the lion share of the split oil revenue, ( SS=12, NW= 6, NE=6, NC= 6, SE=6, SW=6. On average $42 billion oil revenue income) but after the 15 years elapses, no more oil sharing . Each country should finally now rely on their national resources and human capital etc. This will foster competition and development and it's the way to go as no one will feel left out or marginalised. We should share the same independence day of 1st Oct for the individual countries. Everyone would be happy. Our descendants will forever thank us. God bless 🙏🏼

Meanwhile for those of you thinking of collecting N15,000 kpa to sell your votes, don't forget that tax day is coming. They will squeeze it out of you with higher cost of living and more taxes.
Northerners vote for an Igbo man huh, very unlikely.

Flets:
Sometime in 2009, ‘Mr’ (as he preferred to be addressed) Peter Obi, governor Of Anambra State at the time, visited Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and myself at Dallas, Texas. He came to deliver a get well message from Dr Goodluck Jonathan and was billed to attend a black tie event at the Dallas Marriot.

Curiously, he flew into Dallas airport with one small carry on luggage, which he insisted on wheeling around himself, and on getting to our residence requested to freshen up. He opened his carry on, filled with files and paperwork and a few toiletries and an extra shirt, and when the Ikemba and I asked if he was expecting another item of luggage, he said no.

‘Then, what will you be wearing to the event tonight?’, we inquired. It was at that point that it struck him that he couldn’t show up in his casuals at such a ceremony.

I insisted on taking him to the luxury men’s emporium at Nieman Marcus to buy a smart black suit. When we got there, he was busy doing the dollar to naira currency conversions. The suit that was a perfect match for him was a dapper Tom Ford suit with a price tag of $3,985 plus tax. He did the calculations and told me, ‘Do you know how many students this amount of money can train in Nigeria?’ I reminded him that he was the governor, as well as the special guest, and for the calibre of guests expected at that evening’s occasion, including the mayor, senators and captains of conglomerates, amongst others, he needed to be dressed in top form.

To cut the story short, he refused to pay what he termed ’that outrageous price’ for the Tom Ford suit and that was how we ended up at Steinmart, where he agreed to pay a more acceptable price of $220, tax inclusive, for a basic men’s suit, which he was happy to wear to that evening’s event.

What struck me was that as we were on the way to the airport to see him off for his return flight back to Nigeria, he reached for his pocket where he brought out an envelope of crisp hundred dollar bills. The amount in the envelope was $3,800.
He said ‘Anyanwu, this is the balance of the money I would have paid for the ‘Ford’ suit. If the label on the suit was ‘Peter Obi’, I am wondering if anybody in America will pay that amount for it. I have deducted the amount we paid for that suit we eventually bought. Please use this balance for your Charity foundation to help those in actual need. I trust you will do so’. We all laughed heartily. Vintage Peter Obi!

The eventual beneficiaries of that largese were Madam Theresa Agbo, a yam seller who became penniless and displaced when her yam shed was gutted by fire; Callistus Egbe, who was bedridden due to illness, and needed help with the school fees of his young children; and the Mgbemena family of six, who were thrown out of their one room accommodation (which we subsequently doubled to two rooms) because their breadwinner fell upon hard times and could no longer afford the rent.

In life, you either live by your creed or you desecrate the mould by which the Almighty created you. Any progressive nation measures an individual by his values, not his vaults.
If this way of life is what is derided as ‘stinginess’ on the part of Peter Obi, then we all need to adopt this mould for a more sustainable and more humane environment.

The exact reason that he can never be president of the federation, his people in Anambra need him more.

Let him go & perform his miracle for them, best office he can get in Abuja is a Senate office in the National Assembly complex, never Aso Rock.
