A lot of football debates are decided by emotion, not by facts.
People pick the player they like, not the one they truly think is better.

For example, EPL fans will say players from their league are better than players from other leagues, even when the stats say otherwise. Fans from other leagues do the same thing just to prove that there own league is better. I’ve done it too in the past, but now I’m trying not to let personal feelings affect my judgment.

A good example is the 2020 Ligue 1 fan vote for the best striker in the last 20 years.

With all due respect to Drogba, I don’t think he was better than Zlatan.
Zlatan’s achievements, how long he played at the top, and his performances in Ligue 1 were on a different level. Honestly, comparing their Ligue 1 goal records together is criminal. But Drogba still won because the vote was based on fans sentiment.

If I had given the opportunity to vote , I would vote Drogba too, just because I like him more. But that wouldn’t change the fact that I think Ibrahimovi was the better player.
