They must have reinvested your equity dividend. They have reinvested mine. To know, check if your number of units has increased.

Kanayo has just passed the straight of hormuz and is racing towards Africa. He has evaded all road blocks and is on full speed. Estimated time of arrival is around 9pm

Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 3:15pm On Jul 08
Enjoy the Kanayo, chief. If you had bought the dip, you would be smiling alongside the dividend payout.

The dividend would only have returned me to where i am now. Probably not even.

Hello guys,

Can someone please advise.

Which of these fintech platform allows OTP through email for registration. I don't have access to the phone no I used for BVN registration again. I am not in country.

Zrosk is too pricey; when I initiated a withdrawal, 100k was deducted from my withdrawal, and after asking why, I was told some CSCS charges and other blah-blah charges. Anyway, I can't say much because I made tons of money with them.
Ahh, I see!

Thanks for the heads-up

You're right provided you get the timing right. But one can't always get the timing right and if one isn't getting the timing right most of the time, one may not be as productive as someone who just left the money untouched in few years time to come.

I agree with this. Time in the market always beats timing the market especially for those with a long term horizon
Re: Equity Investment. by princezzz(f): 4:37pm On Jul 08
I didnt know this about their withdrawal, i wonder if the 100k is a standard amount, or it depends on what you are pulling out

Re: Equity Investment. by princezzz(f): 4:50pm On Jul 08
This might be hard oo, because of the CBN regulation which requires an active phone number to recieve OTPs
You can try to see if you can first register with maybe your NIN, even if that is possible, you will remain on Level/Tier 1 until you complete your KYC.

Yes oo. Jumping in and out is free as long as you aren’t loosing money. Even if you losse money sef, its a personal journey

Even fund managers jump in and out of holdings too aka rebalancing
Re: Equity Investment. by princezzz(f): 5:55pm On Jul 08
#Truth# Its a personnal experience.
i considered jumping out at one point, but before i fully immersed myself in equity, i had already decided no going back to MMF, so no matter what happens, i already knew i was riding out the market this year. This is my own way of "stronging" my mind.
Come January if all things remain the same, I will be doing my own reshuffling and rebalancing on maybe new things.

December /January may be the best time to enter equity funds. God so kind by Q1 you can easily do 100% or above 50% if its a good year. Then you can exit for the year
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 6:53pm On Jul 08
Yes, if I entered my foreign equity in January, I would be smiling and making fun of Yakubu.

A good strategy is this :

1. Have a lot in MMF (if you arent that young anymore)
2. Have about 20% in equity.
3. You will observe the little you have in equity will outperform MMF.
4. On red days, MMf will chest your losses and even neutralize it if the yakubu is not gigantic
5. On green days, MMf will amplify your gains. Green from equity and green from MMF.

But for you to enjoy this strategy, you need to have a good sum in MMF first.

If your risk tolerance and horizon is high high, then allocate more to equity and you will 10x your money faster than MMF.

But remember, MMF also wins in the long term. Infact someone did an analysis in the other thread about how MMF outperformed a bullish stock over a 20 year horizon.
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m):
Chief, MMF can not outperform a fundamental stock in the long term if you do DCA; the compounding of equity is not a joke. Nestle is around 3215 naira; the guy analysis is totally incorrect. If MMF has a 19% annualized return and a stock market does 80-100% annually and maybe -20% in negative years, with proper strategy and DCA and dividend reinvestment, one will surely beat the market. Money from stock is not a joke if you are patient. It is only in Nigeria that most folks invest in MMF.

Keep doing DCA if you can once or twice a week, and you will thank me later. Wealth is usually accumulated during the bear season if you have a strategy.

So true I got 1m within a month from MMF, however have been strategically going back into EQUITY again in batches

You right. It’s a paradox. MMF can increase your staying power in equity and give you a war chest to endure bearish seasons if done right.

Bro, so remember, the 80-100% stock market performance is an anomaly that only started maybe within the last year or two. Within that 20 year frame, many fundamentally sound stocks have gone to zero and have been delisted.

Also, whilst you have DCA on the equity side, you also have regular top ups on the MMF side which also compounds like mad too.

In developed climes, you would be lucky to get 3% on MMF which is why many foreign money runs to Nigeria. Imagine us complaining about 15% here 😂.

Play around with this MMf calculator and use 10 or 15 years time frame and you will be shocked at the power of compounding. It quickly gets to a point where your interest begins to outperform whatever your actual contribution is.

rate.com/banking/savings/compound-savings-calculator/

But you’re spot on too. DCA can make your wealth go gagga. Have you seen what happens to your rate when you buy a dip on CS and the next day becomes green? 😂😂. The system goes haywire and can give you 5000% 😂😂
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 10:06am On Jul 09
I got your point, bro. However, if you don't have huge capital in MMF, it can't generate a good result in the long term. Let's assume "A" invested a million naira in Aradel or MTN and "B" also invested the same in MMF; there is a probability that A might cash out big in five years time than B.
