This can never happen in the north.

5 naira, 10 naira and 20 naira are still acceptable in the north. Even in the south, they are acceptable in any sabo or Hausa dominated area.

N10 can buy a leave of rolling paper
N50 can buy 2 sweets or chewing gum
Some biscuits are N50 each
Sachet water is N50
Matches are N50 per box

Go to Ajegunle Boundary or Apapa and spend those #20 notes and see whether it would be accepted. As a matter of fact, nobody uses or spend the money there again.
