Not possible, Igbos and Yorubas have no business being together in one country. It's a recipe for disaster just as it has been in Nigeria

The only way this Southern Nigerian thing can stand is if it is for a short time, to exit Nigeria and get away from the North. But after that, everyone goes their way

Yorubas and Igbos are long overdue for their own seperate countries
Bruv, you guys are always quickest to react when these sort of topics are broached because of your historical hatred of Yorubas.

Yet let us inspect facts and reality. How many Yorubas in the SE? 300k to 500k max.

Whereas you guys are 8 to 10 million in the SW. To a thinking man does that not reveal the hypocritical outlook of you guys?

You continue to insist you want to be away from others whereas they are the ones who actually prove factually they do not wish to be with you, with how they are relatively few in your land, while you are obsessed with being with them, in several millions, in their land.

If Nigeria separated tomorrow, the reality is that it is the Yorubas who will remain in their land out of the four major ethnic group while most of your folks will refuse outrightly to leave Yoruba land and return to Biafra.

You people are a funny lot. The total Igbo in the SW can not surpass 2 million if up to that and the Yoruba in the old Eastern region may be up to that number or at least 1.5 million. Igbos in the SW outside Lagos are not more than 300k to 500k
The bulk of Igbo in the west are in Lagos and the bulk of Yoruba in the East are in PH.
There are more Yoruba in Igbo cities like Enugu, Onitsha, Awka etc on a per Capita basis than you find Igbos in the average Yoruba city apart from Lagos. The Yorubas dominate skilled labor in the East. They have hospitals, hotels, they are building contractors, oil workers, electricians, carpenters, fashion designers, wholesalers and etc. What work do Igbos even do here in the west to compare to all that? I was in Kogi in 2006 and went to Nsukka to get a transporter to help move palm kernel from Eke Avrugo to Nsukka and nobody wanted the contract because of bad road until I finally got someone. When I got to the village it was my landlady that interviewed him and announced to me he is from my state. His Yoruba was very bad and he obviously will never return to Yoruba land again. In the same Nsukka, there are Hausa people like that too that I saw.
Are Igbos more than Urhobo in Yoruba land? Not by much if at all especially in the hinterland. I know the Urhobo I grew up with. Igbos are however more than the Urhobo in Lagos. In my town of Ere Ijesa, Igede from Benue are at least five times the Igbo while Hausas are more than ten times

So don't scare the people asking for Biafra. Their people are not scattered in Nigeria more than others. They have many cities now and have returned home while there are large groups that had cities in the nineteenth century but no real one today. Bariba and etc come to mind. If no Nigeria, Ilesa today would have been a much bigger city.

The worst thing you can do to the Yorubas today, is to dash them "independence". For them it's akin to a death sentence..
No set of people on planet earth are so scared of self rule than these people. Its unbelievable!
The prospect of being directly and solely responsible for their lives, incomes and well being, is a nightmare they can't endure.

Look at the politics of Nigeria as we speak..., almost every group in this epileptic kwantiri is willing to walk away, including the Hausas and the fulanis of all people. The northerners are like; "this is our stand, take or we move out"! Igbos are like; "we are tired, take everyth, but let us go"... It is only our "Owanbe quantity", in their treacherous glory that are vigorously arguing for all to "recognise the benefits of One Nigeria"..
In 1960 the west had a budget of 55 million pounds the east had 12 million pounds and the North 7 million pounds. The mistake the west made was to agree to be unequally yoked in a union such as the federal republic of Nigeria in 1960. It should have been level up or go it alone. It is wrong to provide two thirds of the capital and agree to take one quarter of the board seats. We are still suffering from that wrong move today

What you guys don't realise is that there won't be an independent yoruba nation, the powerful Igbo nation will ensure that the yorubas get the Palestinian treatment. Yoruba never know wetin dem put their hand inside, the day of reckoning is almost upon you traitors and you'll be dealt with accordingly

You pose an existential threat to the mighty Igbo nation and that disqualifies you from having an independent state, you'll be oppressed till the end of time, you can mark it somewhere
Yoruba pose an existential threat to Igbos how? We do not share borders and if no colonisation by the British we would probably still not know each other today since we did not have contact in known history before the British. How come your position when we don't even share a border?
See, how do you prosper yourself if your life ambition is to obstruct the prosperity of another person? You are no doubt a very bad person. There are enough resources and enough space for every group to prosper. Don't waste your life on this kind of evil project.

I,ve noticed you have a style of discussion based on being contrarian. We are living in an information age. AI even puts my estimation of Yorubas in the SE, at 300k to 500K, as an exaggeration. See for yourself.

Meanwhile you do not address the central point I made which is that those insisting they wish to be away from other would naturally stay away from them if sincere.

The same AI will tell you Igbo are 20 percent of Lagos population and that Ariaria market is the largest market in west Africa. When you ask the size it will say 20 hectares, then ask the size of Ladipo, it will say 200 hectares, ask for Bodija it will say 80 hectares etc etc. Bodija is four times the size of the largest market in west Africa and Ladipo is ten times but AI does not know, yet it has the information in it's data base. Therefore AI can't be relied upon especially when it is telling you itself that it is not sure.

Then you can't say people need to relocate to their land if they want independence. There is no city on Earth where your own people don't live in so there is no reason to say any group should go back to their land just because they ask for independence. All groups, no matter how small they are, need independence and autonomy They need to be able to chart their own destiny.

You have a way of complicating what is simple. My simple point, in response to a poster who said Yorubas and Igbos have no business sharing a nation, is that if you have a strong aversion to others then you stay away from them and their corner if sincere.

That is how normal and sincere people behave worldwide. A ku klux Klan rascist in the USA will live in Harlem or the Bronx how? Won't happen.

The point is some should shut up and stop professing hate for others daily everywhere while refusing to stay away from them.

Is it all Igbos that are like these people that we meet online? No. Then support them if they want Biafra, they can't ask your people to leave their land and you can't ask their people to leave your land. Does it now mean Nigeria must remain united? No it is better for the country to split so that the constant complaining will end and real competition that is healthy can start. That is the point I am making. Even as the US is at war with Iran, there are almost 500k Iranian people living in the USA and there are Americans in Iran. Even Jews live in Iran but who is in charge is never in contention

Fully supported. We have absolutely nothing in common with SW.And should never be in same country. Personally self I go prefer north as we do more business with them and they are not double faced and envious

Mainwhile there are millions of igbos born and bred in the west, doing their business peacefully and enjoying their life in yorubaland, and yet many more trouping to the west for better living on a daily basis. Have you asked yourself why that is? Or what is the origin or end point of this your mentality?
Do u in all honesty believe what u wrote with the current anti Igbo sentiment in Yoruba land ? The Yoruba tribalism and nationalism is the number one threat to the unity of Nigeria right now

Look Mr man, migration has nothing to do with belonging to the same country. There are thousands of Lebanese, Indians and Chinese in Nigeria, but there is Lebanon, India and China. Those people are not here to do "one Nigeria" with you, they are here for economic opportunities

There are millions of Nigerians in Britain even though Britain gave Nigeria independence over 60 years ago.

Migration and being together in one country are two different things

Yorubas and Igbos have no business being together in one country, both tribes need seperate countries of their own
