Only investors will understand this.

Kudos to Tinubu.

If you wise go and open CSCS account and invest no matter how little. Even N5,000 is fine.

You are right. I invested N250k jokingly in January. Bought GTB shares. Surprisingly got paid N25k dividends in Feb and my original investment has grown to over 300k.

Now imagine those inventing millions.

We are doing badly. The fact that equities in Nigeria are priced at a premium shows that we are a top destination for hot money, the kind of money that we need for growth and job creation is not what they want to bring in Nigeria. Hot money will simply put more pressure on our external reserves. This is what EBS said recently that our focus on Hot money will put pressure on external reserves. The Nigerian equities we are rejoicing about are actually debts that will put pressure on our external reserves.

It is not kudos to Tinubu stop lying to people here. Hot money is simply funds used to purchase equities(Stocks, bonds and Tbills) these are like taking a future debt with interest. These thing put pressure on our external reserves especially when they mature. Make una fear God.

That is still a bubble building up in stocks if there is massive pressure on the external reserves like a sudden payment for bond issuance done years ago like a Eurobonds, that sends shock waves that force people to sell off stock. Again your claim of being paid 25k from buying GTB shares of 250k is pure lies. Even MTN cannot pay a massive 25k dividend on 250k naira worth of shares.

If you want us to believe you, tell us the dividend payout rate and the number of shares you had.

Okay sorry. I'll give you the figures and proof. I'd just checked them up.
I invested 200k through Bamboo app. Bought GTB shares worth 199k. Got dividends of 22k in April.

You want proof , here you go. Now imagine I invested millions. I'm just waiting for my fixed deposit to mature, and I'll move it all to investment.

My current portfolio is now worth N265k on bamboo from the 200k Investment in January and I don chop 22k. If you like keep doubting

grin grin grin grin well done for your shares but it is not a reflection of a booming economy. The boom in Nigeria share market is because of the influx of hot money following the high coupon rates on Nigerian financial instruments like the Eurobonds and Savings bond. That demand is filtering into the stock market. That is why I tell you this is a bubble building and it is not real

At first you said I lied. I gave you facts, now you are telling me it's not enough.

Hot or cold money, it's all fund movement and it's good for the economy. investors no dey put money where dem no see future. The stock market dey rise because many companies dey post better results and investors get confidence say things fit improve.

No be every market rally be bubble. Sometimes, na market dey price in better economic prospects before the real economy catch up.

You still don't seem to get it. It is not good for the economy especially an economy ravaged by high inflation and low productivity. Hot money is worsening the situation and real economy cannot catch up at this rate. If the coupon rate of your country's financial instruments is damn too high then it is a strong indication of inflation. Even the US and UK cannot have high coupon rates for their own financial instruments, because they don't want funds that just come and go with the whim they want money that stays and grows the economy.

See bro from my statements on the equities you have seen that I am no small person when it comes to this. You invested 250k which is paltry sum this shows ideally you are no where near me as a person I have more than 18 year experience in the financial services sector so when I tell you something it is from clear perspective and when a professional sounds warning like this you should think.

May 1, 2025

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.
