LordLicifer:You self worse pass am. So,ministry of power or energy should pause its activity because the ministry of enviroment is facing some challenge Throwing "not a priority " tag as a form if criticism is the most mischievous way of of criticizing a project. I am very sure if its flood that is being tackled,he would have still slammed it with that tag and claim solving electricity issue should be the priority. The same thing was said of Lagos-calabar coastal highway and MMIA reconstruction. You yourself, being on nairaland is misplaced priority, you should be with your family or your business. |

To be candid, Lagos is really trying. But the truth is that Lagos can NEVER be 100% electricity. The reason is corruption and wiring system. But Lagos has always been the leading example for other states to follow |

MrSly:You people just don't understand governance, Nigeria problem is structural and not really about finances, the foundation is weak and no matter how much billions you throw at Nigeria's economic challenges it will still not solve it,obi $16b,buhari WB loan of about $1.5b for electricity all came out zero, because you don't have the enabling laws to make that space more efficient,Tinubu as smoothened that out for you and you will not see private capital coming into that space with considerable efforts by the sub nationals too. |

donself9:Your electricity sector has lagged far behind the volume the country needs,Nigeria's electricity problem isn't so much about finance but the enabling laws weren't in place to make the space more efficient, with the tinubu electricity act,it's freed up a lot of dead space and you now see different private capital coming in and considerable efforts matched by the sub nationals, the fg alone can't solve that problem.........you people think just throwing money at it would solve it but you are absolutely wrong, obj did $16b,buhari $1.5b WB loan but we are still in distress, what does that tell you........this govt has done the heavy lifting by making the law to enable the full liberalization of the sector, this singular factor is what has held back much needed development in that space as you can now see initial private capital coming in. Let the reach power themselves, that's not a problem,2k megawats out of the total requirements of Lagos is a good place to start and shortly you would start seeing other initiatives across the state, the law was just reamended this year and we can already see a lot of movement already. |

Oju4190:One can chew and walk at the same time. No be everything person must criticize...or else person go turn to winch. One of the problems of Nigeria is that a lot of things are concentrated in the center and should not be. Transportation, Security, of a vast and ethnically diverse country should not be put in the hands of the central government alone. Let each state develop and adapt to its unique situation. If Lagos needs light and Maiduguru does not like light...let them decide themselves. Oyo can be very good at cattle rearing and sell its meat to Ondo state that may be very good at fish production. |
