Who exactly are you thanking for the lose of a loved one?
A a Christian I know it can be for a successful burial but is it biblical?
Though Ecclesiastes 3: 3 says there's time for everything; a time to laugh, cry, celebrate, die, etc.
But what do you think as believers in Christ Jesus?

A lady posted the burial photos of her late mother on Facebook last week and she wrote "Thank God for a successful burial".

She posted about 15 photos. In one of the photos, she was mourning. The rest of the photos are where she was dancing with her late mother's portrait and guests were spraying money on her.


After watching the burial photos for about 30 minutes, I understood why she wrote "Thank God for a successful burial".

The bible is clear… it said…. “in all things, give thanks to God” …
if u decide to cherry pick what “all things” means to you… that’s fine…..
But why are u trying to force your own view of what “all things” means on another person ..? U are just using paracetamol for another person’s headache

Because they want every slightest opportunity to feed their pastor who is not working for money and is not paying tax.

A very dysfunctional society

Though the so called THANKSGIVING in churches of Christendom is unscriptural but this is what we found written in God's word:

A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth. Better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man, and the living should take it to heart. Ecclesiastes 7:1-2

Better is the end of a matter than its beginning. Better to be patient than to be haughty in spirit. Ecclesiastes 7:8

When a Christian ends his earthly journey as a faithful servant of God such a person has successfully followed the footstep of Jesus who announced at his own final breath saying:

“It has been accomplished!” John 19:30

So it calls for thanksgiving but churches of Christendom have turned it to something else!

For it is written, in all things, give thanks

"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you" is a famous biblical instruction found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18. It encourages maintaining an attitude of gratitude and trust in GOD'S sovereignty, regardless of the circumstances you face.

This is why Jehovahs Witnesses dont celebrate death. It is a time to mourn.

Even Jesus Christ wept, gave way to tears, when he learnt of Lazarus death, despite knowing he would resurrect him.

Thanksgivings are never free. It is a time for the Church to milk the bereaved, if one calls them that.

When my dad died, his childhood church used for the service of songs milked us.

On the other hand, my congregation gave me 16k to assist me which I gave to the family.

Christianity is the most successful scam in human history, the victims make excuses for the thing that exploits them.

They claim to serve a god that can do all things when they ask, but reality shows time and time again that they are deluding themselves. A rational person will discard the ineffectual belief, but like children they hold on even tighter because they are scared to face the harsh truth of existence.

Thanking the all powerful God for not saving the life of their loved one even though he supposedly can....very funny.

She didn't thank God for losing her loved one, she thanked God for a successful burial. Know the difference. In some burials, many terrible things happen. There are some people who lose their lives while attending burials and some burials don't take place because of conflicts. All the same, we have no choice than to give God the Glory in everything, wether it is good or bad. That doesn't mean God is responsible for everything that happen to humans.

Please don't judge her. Allow her to mourn the way she pleases. She might be dancing away her sorrows. Not necessarily about the money being sprayed. Learn to let people live their lives. No be everything dem dey criticize.

You can mourn the physical absence of your loved one while simultaneously thanking God for the years you spent together and the legacies they left behind.

God giveth, God takerh.

Celebrating death in Christiandom simply mean a soul have united with it maker.

In everything, give thanks to God.

Death is just the end of your soul's sojourn in this consciousness.

Same question I have been asking for years. Anyway I don't go to Church, so it's not my problem.

In all things give thanks

Because God is the creator, the giver of life.
In every situation give thanks 🙏🏾 to GOD, in good and in bad times always give thanks.

There's a need to give thanks in everything. Especially after a burial that has many guests from different parts of the country in attendance. Yet, no single calamity, accident or kidnapping was reported, every attendee returned to base safely, there's a need to thank God, abeg.
