I am one lucky man.

I’ve experienced life as an Obidient, and today I am a Progressive. I can confidently say they are two completely different ideologies.

Yesterday, I experienced something I hadn’t felt. It was as though the Super Eagles won the World Cup. I genuinely felt what it means to love your country and sincerely want the best for it.

The moment the news broke that the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and their teachers had been rescued, my phone practically exploded. Calls everywhere, messages from everywhere. People were congratulating one another, celebrating, thanking God.

Not because any of us had our own children among those rescued.

We were simply happy that innocent Nigerians made it home alive.

That joy was real and pure. It reminded me that the life of every Nigerian matters.

As an Obidient, I never experienced that kind of collective joy for Nigeria. The atmosphere was always different. If the news was good, people looked for reasons to downplay it. If it was bad, na there everybody go gather, begin push agenda. The mindset often seemed to be that nothing good should ever be acknowledged. It always felt like if Nigeria recorded a win, some people were disappointed because it didn’t fit the narrative they had already built.

Yesterday changed something in me forever.

For the first time in a long while, I felt genuinely proud to be a Nigerian. People celebrated the success of our security forces and the safe return of fellow citizens without bitterness.

Yesterday reaffirmed that I am with a group that celebrates Nigeria’s victories, no matter how small or big. A group that wants this country to succeed because when Nigeria wins, we all win.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

You can never imagine the level of bitterness in that camp until you get inside. What you’re seeing from the outside is nothing compared to the real deal.

I have a close friend whose daughter was among the children kidnapped and I have never for once posted about those children because I understand that making genuine difference is not by helping terrorists achieve their aims. I shed tears of joy yesterday when I was speaking with my friend on phone, she cried deeply too. May God bless Nigeria.

I have always said that majority of those who were sharing pathetic contents about the kidnapped children on social media and promoting different contents that criticised the government for being careless about the issue of insecurity in the country are the Obidients. They were not spreading the news out of the love for the children or concern to see them being rescued but they were only doing it for their selfish reasons to show that their political candidate is the best option and nothing more.

No concerned parents would join them to do those nonsense. At a point it felt as if they were more concerned than the parents of the victims. In fact, I had an Obidient friend who would post on her status every day and called to ask why I did not feel bothered about the kidnapped children. Now, she has stopped posting, she is now asking questions...why is one of the teachers holding an expensive phone? Why are the children not on school uniform? Who was washing their clothes? Did they even brush their teeth? How would the female teachers take care of their mensural flow...? Why should the teachers be compelled to praise the president for their rescue? Bla bla bla.

So the Tinubu supporter is happy that a teacher was beheaded?

Now that they have been rescued, it’s now a scripted skit.

One was doing count down on his page, reminding the whole world how Nigeria had failed to rescue those kids. The very day they were rescued, he called the whole thing fake.

Like how do people hate their country so much that they are not even trying to beat the allegations ?

Public figures who politicised the abduction of the Oriire children owe those brave kids a moral duty to have also publicised their rescue. Their silence is not golden. If you condemned Nigeria when there was a breakdown, shouldn't you also commend the country you claim to love when there is a breakthrough? If you are loud when bad happens in your fatherland and silent when good occurs in your motherland, perhaps you should reflect soberly with your conscience to find out why you take pleasure when Nigeria is under pressure, and feel grief when our nation finds relief.

There is a common slogan: Drink responsibly. Perhaps we need a new one: Use your celebrity responsibly!

This woman appears to have undergone a dramatic physical change between the two photos. Experiences such as prolonged captivity can have serious physical and emotional effects, including significant weight loss.

Given that, dismissing the incident as "staged" without credible evidence risks trivializing what victims may have endured.

If anyone claims the abduction was staged, they should provide evidence rather than rely on speculation.

Good spirited, well meaning and well informed readers will not take you serious. We know the pattern and we understand the motive.

Let’s be clear…every nation of the world is challenged by one social malaise or the other.

If you know how to count the days Esinle Orire victims spent with their captors, but you cannot celebrate their release because it will make your political opponent look good, then you are a certified evil. With or without you, this nation shall WIN !

I woke up this morning and with deep introspection, my heart was fixed on the school principal, her resilience, her fortitude and the strength with which she stayed on, believing with unwavering resolve that Nigeria shall come for her and the hand of our forces shall touch and rescue her. It was sobering for me and I didn’t know when i said, “God bless Nigeria”…
