Bankyshinani:I am already putting changing the inverter into consideration. That’s the only reasonable thing in the long run. Thanks |

This system is Noisy o, 🤦. It just keep shouting. They just brought it to my lodge; jeeze. It's well.
|
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 4:20pm On Jul 12 |
micxwell:First check to ensure the load level ain't more than 50%. Secondly, some of the alarms can be put off from settings EXCEPT when you say NOISY, you meant the FAN |

Pabodo:Battery: mrReed has 24v 178ah Eve (4.5kwh) with 100A BMS = 660k Solar Panels: 4pcs of 600w or 625w = Budget around 150k per solar panel (Hybrid) inverter of at least 24v 4.2kva = Budget atleast 350k Charge Controller (MPPT) : Between 100k to 250k PV Cable: Budget about 15meter length Battery Breaker: Love to always have dedicated breaker for battery BUT there are those who prefer to skip it when the battery comes with breaker. Other accessories + PV Cable: Budget around 200k depending on how flashy you want the work to appear like the pictures You see here on Nairaland. Installation Fees: Discuss that with whomEver is handling said project. Earthing not inclusive. NB: Earthing is optional BUT adviced especially when using transformerless inverters. Feel free to point out errors or if I missed anything. I dey work |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cutefy: 5:18pm On Jul 12 |
Mrreed:Simple and straightforward. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 5:24pm On Jul 12 |
Gshems:Hmm, meaning the possibility of my 2 panels hitting 100v is low right? Even my single 535 watt have never cross 44v even on peak sunny days. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by micxwell(m): 5:40pm On Jul 12 |
bassdow:FAN yes. I've not even attached any load to it. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 5:56pm On Jul 12 |
Na you dey fear. Connect the 585w hoover420: |

cutefy:There's reason He referred to it as "DIY made easy" . What @Valto displayed there would work perfectly so long the constituent cells and BMS are of good quality. We should be able to separate the basics and essentials from superfluous trivialities. One of ma work laptop (Core i7) lives inside casing of a Blu-ray home theater player (the one that looks like DVD player). I could even decide to leave it naked sef. And guess what, na for wall I still hang am YET e dey handle projects back to back. |

Mrreed:Now this is an honest, honourable and straight forward seller/individual. Nothing hidden about his prices and nothing about being deceptive. Unlike others that don't display their prices and intend to give different buyers different prices. Please, let's take a queue from this and be straightforward. May God continue to bless and uplift you, Mrreed. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 7:54am On Jul 13 |
hoover420:Ignore the naysayers. Series them. I have four 550w+ Jinko panels and I've never even seen 190v from them. Two should be under 95v. Could be risky but I think you'll be fine. You should also consider using a meter to directly measure the panel voltages at peak irradiation. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:55am On Jul 13 |
This is correct. 555w jinko is 49v voc n like 3-5 volt will be lost to cable. HeavenlyBang: |

Jefferyzz:Hopefully the day someone blows up their expensive gadget, una go take responsibility. There are decisive decisions that ought to only be taken by those experienced enough; not those looking for ways to avoid paying. Mind you, whatever we tell one person in here openly automatically could and would be used by others. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 10:15am On Jul 13 |
bassdow:I believe he is speaking from practical experience which is valid. It's now left for the person to decide. Some users have also supported this line of thought from their own practical experience so I guess it's worth giving it a try or not depending on their appetite for risk. In the end it's all for science. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 10:34am On Jul 13 |
Unfaized:atimes words should be worded in ways whomever is reading understands what they trying to do. If you observed, I already listed out about 3 or 4 things to expect should both be in series. That way, it's clear to anyOne reading. Either way, we move. |

Mrreed:How many years warranty and what is the cycle count? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Bankyshinani(m): 1:29pm On Jul 13 |
Valto:How many years warranty and how many cycle? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 2:59pm On Jul 13 |
HeavenlyBang:It’s the risk that is giving me concern, I was hoping the inverter will chest the 2 panels with no issues. I’m also surprised because the itel power tank I got for my aunt on CDcare came with 590w jinko panel and the itel Dey chest am well but this my lazy Haisic 1.5kva no fit chest ordinary 2 panels without needing MPPT😌🙂↔️ |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cutefy: 3:35pm On Jul 13 |
bassdow:Ok noted. So that's to say, he has all the above items readily available for sale separately. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Beframia: 4:56pm On Jul 13 |
The weather has been rainy and cloudy most times today in my location. My inverter reading is as shown in the image. What should be the performance rating of my system consisting of a 3 pieces 685w panels connected in series to a 4.2kva inverter?
|
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Mrreed(m): 5:04pm On Jul 13 |
3 years cell warranty Cycle count of brand new > 280ah are a minimum of 6000 cycle @25 degree. 100-200ah cells are generally shorter 2000-4000. Bankyshinani: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ogeodi(f): 5:27pm On Jul 13 |
Please, which would you recommend I go for—the EcoFlow Delta 2 or a regular inverter setup? I'm just worried about ending up with fake batteries. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AyobamiOluwole: 6:33pm On Jul 13 |
Beframia:Questions like this can get you banned in some kind of forums. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AyobamiOluwole: 6:36pm On Jul 13 |
ogeodi:If you are concerned about Fake batteries, I would assume you have made your choice already (inverter setup in this case). The next thing is to ask the right question about the battery to buy. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 6:46pm On Jul 13 |
ogeodi:what I often tell people is, especially those coming from Nairaland is: if you not sure of a source or brand, just buy from those that sell in here e.g @Valto and @mrReed . I presume they wouldn't wanna easily mess themselves up. Also, we have said it in here several times that All-In-One setUps rarely are worth it except your useCase requires mobility. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 6:47pm On Jul 13 |
