CaseSensitive:The Strait of Hormuz is always open. The problem is who'd be willing to risk crossing it (guided by US ships) and which insurance companies will be willing to insure such a person. See below, insurance companies effectively closed it before the war even fully got going

Dotherightthing:If that option was feasible, it would have been taken long ago. For me, Trump is not a strategic thinker. Presidents have different advisers, he is responsible for choosing the best course of action against Iran, he choose wrong. Only option left for Trump is to swallow his gigantic ego and forgo that strait to Iran. Ground invasion will result in heavy human casualties on both sides, Iran can take the hit but trump will explain to American people his stakes in a war that is costing them the lives of their youth and billion of dollars in tax payer money where healthcare, inflation etc are becoming unbearable. Midterm elections are drawing near, his chances of retaining majority in the house becomes slimmer with everyday the war progresses. Head or tail, he lost this one. The leadership that were more diplomatic have been eliminated. He has to deal with hardliners, vindictive irgc sects. |

The US, South Korea and 20+ UN countries could not defeat a coalition of North Korea, China and Russia during the Korean war. I doubt NATO can even stand such war currently. The Americans can't even stand North korea open a Frontline with South Korea and China invade Taiwan. They will probably need a coalition of 50+ countries to fight such fronts. vr0xen: |

Mattswaggz:Go cross their strait of Hormuz like you did to that girl yesterday and see if you won't collect. Its in their backyard, you don't tell them what they do with it. You can encourage your yellow pawpaw who is now afraid of his shadow to do his worst. Never seen US President been so afraid to die for his people and for the fight he started. |

Mirasteel:Foolishness. Let's look at it another way. Suppose Iran had simply agreed to allow UN nuclear inspectors in: 1) Ayatollah Khamenei and his family will stil be alive 2) All top highly trained Iranian leaders will still be alive 3) 7000 Iranian soldiers will still be alive 4) Iran will still have Airforce, Navy, and Air defence 5) Iran won't have the highest inflation since the early 40's and their citizenry greatly suffering 6) Iran will still be laying timed mines on Strait of Hormuz, making it a big bargaining chip 7) Iran will still have all the billions worth of infrastructure destroyed Iran would have eventually developed a way to secretly build Nukes because they'd have had money and a buoyant economy, but now they are degraded, decimated, and hungry, and the last thing on their mind is nukes! |

yemmit90:If you understand the landmass and terrain of Iran, your claims will be more circumspect. The only cards left for Trump is to destroy civilian utilities, nuclear electricity plant, gas plant, desalination plant etc. Iran already promised to return the favour on her gulf nation neighbours which houses trillions of dollars in USA, Europe investments. The missiles, drones Iran is using to create all this havoc can be lunched from anywhere in Iran making tracking etc almost impossible. They have tried creating/sponsoring an uprising amongst the citizen, still didn't work. Militias have been supported to topple the regime without any success. Seems like there's going to be shift in world power soon, American facade of power has been tested and found wanting in Iran. |

Mattswaggz:They see it, but with that lot, blind loyalty trumps logic. Don’t ask questions just hate. Don’t isolates issues just go with the consensus view. Where I lost them is how on earth someone respects a so called man of god who wishes death on people made by God? If the Pope declared hate for any country today I’ll be the first to reprimand him. |

ReacherSaidNoth:i know most of you don't have real knowledge of war and you think USA is what you see in those Hollywood movies but i still can't help but point out your ignorance, you think trump can launch a ground invasion into a country of 100million people surrounded by mountains, millions of active military personnel and a crazy ass military abundance. i just laugh. so he is going to send 1 million out of their 2m military personnel to subdue Iranians that are willing to die for thier country, how does he transport them and what makes you think even 5m American soldiers would be enough |

Mattswaggz:Thank you very much,Iran has use the Shiite ideology to infiltrate and weaken some of the Arab countries like Oman,Yemen n Lebanon. If not ordinarily the omanis should have been protesting against the Iranian exploitations,by simple geographical logic shilp would transit the Hormuz straight closer to the Oman coast than Iran as it is by far the shorter route but Oman is quiet while Iran wants to falsely n forcefully claim ownership of the Hormuz straight against international maritime law,but let them continue, they are actually foolishly digging their own grave, already they have given the Israelis the good opportunity to properly handle hizbolah in Lebanon, the Iranians will certainly n definitely loss las las. |
