Ofunaofu:WAEC and NECO now increased to N50,000 from N27,500. And some people keep defending this madness. A 2020 car at the Airport! If the economy was good and things were in place, would you force a 2020 vehicle on anybody? People would go for even most recent models. They want to force improved fake economy upon us. |

/ What percentage of Nigerian car owners have cars newer than 2020 models. People dey buga with 2010 cars and the government think it is wise to put 2020+ model as airport taxis in a third world country. There has been recent mention of e-busses at the airport for city shuttle. How can these drivers compete with that in their N20m airport taxi cabs? Will or can the customers afford the new price hike?/ |

Parachoko:Who can afford the 2016 ? ....una well for this country ? You removed subsidy and brought hardship on the people and you want them to buy a car of 2016 ? For how much ? That's about 18 million...and you kntthe kind of job that can give you 18 million in one trip...that's kidnapping business...so you are indirectly pushing innocent people to becoming kidnappers |

2020 models and above and how much will they charge as fare? Airport taxis are already charging outrageous fares with their jagbajantis vehicles. The burden will eventually be transfered to the travellers. |

Don't this people that make this policy live in Nigeria... Where do they expect cab drivers to see funds to buy 2020 upward car models knowing how much import duty that are on this vehicles making it ridiculously expensive |

LagosOrigin:I am not in support of that. Government could register the drivers and ensure that their current and correct details are recorded. Then give them the car at subsidized rate. Set up a task force that is responsible for collecting the difference after a setting date. Knowning how "lazy" the public service is, the government can do it through insurance companies. Those ones are aggressive in collecting debts. The reason I said the driver should collect it at a subsidized rate is that, most Nigerians are nonchallant when it comes to business that the capital is 100 percent not theirs. With their own millions being invested in it, majority of them might sit up and focus |

So funny reading people who voted for their tribesmen attack others because they voted their own tribesman. They will argue that they voted their tribesman because he is the best man for the job but can never agree that others voted for their own tribesman too because they think he is better qualified? Everyone with their double standards and hypocrisy. I can see how they will blindly defend their own tribesman if he ever ascend into power and attack anyone who dare criticise him from any other tribe. But they will say they can never do that right - LOL |

Nigerians always trying to afford everything when doing business. Loan, credit, hire purchase.. these are the tools they need to use to buy the vehicle. They should be more concerned about getting favorable loans, they should instead plead for government intervention to get them these car on hire purchase but no.: they are protesting a policy that will move the sector forward. Typical Nigerian mentality. They always like the way things are so they can complain, curse and be mad at everyone around them. Doing business with loan is more productive than doing business with personal capital. All you need is just a fraction of your capital while the major source should be loan and watch the business boom. |
