This is called Eku Age in my Yoruba dialect. Very rare and costly in the market. Mostly used by native doctors.

So I went to my farm yesterday to observe my crops, I was about leaving before I remembered to go and observe my trap if I would be lucky. So sad it was a very small bush mice my trap caught.
The meat is small but wastage is a sin here.

We call it Ago/Aago in Oyo dialect and yeah, you're right about what you said about the rat. That's the fastest rat I know.

Why did you kidnap that young and vibrant pet? He has his own future too. His mom and dad are probably looking for him now, thinking he is lost or has been kidnapped. Release him and let him go home to his family safely abeg.

I believe they are going into extinction because I've not seen this rat live for over 20 years. I was surprised reading someone's comment on this thread that they are very many in his area.

That is Rago, very beautiful rat. Just sell to herbs seller, that rat na hot cake. I caught many of them back then at the village. it is one of the expensive rat then.
