UK Releases Official Guide on How Nigerians, Others Can Apply for Visitor Visa Without Travel Agent

The UK government has published an official guide detailing how to apply for a Standard Visitor visa directly online, removing the need to go through a travel agent or third-party service.

According to the guidance, anyone who requires a Standard Visitor visa must complete the application online before travelling and personally attend an appointment at a visa application centre.

Who Needs a UK Visitor Visa

Not everyone travelling to the UK requires a visa. Depending on nationality, some travellers may instead need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

For those who do need a visa, the standard option covers stays of up to six months and costs £135. Those travelling for medical reasons can apply for an 11-month visa at £234, while academics may access a 12-month visa at the same fee.

Long-Term Visa Options and Fees

Frequent travellers to the UK have the option of applying for long-term Standard Visitor visas, which allow multiple trips over a set period while capping each individual stay at six months. A two-year long-term visa costs £506, a five-year visa is priced at £903, and the 10-year option costs £1,128.

When travelling with family members, each person must file a separate application and pay the corresponding fee individually.

Every applicant is also required to attend their own appointment at a visa application centre. However, the guidance notes that one person may apply on behalf of a partner or child who is unable to complete the process themselves.

Since when has it become free to visit any country. Do you know how much nigerian visa costs in the UK? Even more expensive than UK visa.

Don't mind ignoramuses! nothing has changed in the last 20 years with applying one's self for UK visa..

I got a UK visa last week.

It’s an evisa now. You will have to download one UK immigration ID check app. Unlike the sticker visa I got 2 years, the only thing i have as evidence of approval is the Email notification and a share code i generated after ID check.

Still wondering how traveling with it will look like

It is that bad, it is even worst in Italy,.Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, France the whole Europe have been over run my Afghanis, Syrians, Pakistanis, Srilankans and Bangladeshis even the most liberal country Denmark have had enough of these illegal immigrants, France has banned the wearing of hijabs and niquabs.

Why would one need an agent for a UK visiting visa application?

I wonder why people think going to the UK is one difficult ish. I didn't even know their embassy in Nigeria when I got my visa. More shocking was that I didn't even know the length of my visa till almost six months in the UK when they were announcing in class for those with six months visa to go to the international office so that they can renew their visas and almost foreign students in my class were going. That was the first time I actually checked my passport and saw I was actually given a year and six months visa.
There is nothing difficult about going to the UK as long as you just do everything right as they instruct in your application.

This is also same with Canada just to cut long stories.
