So, far the standout player at the 2026 World Cup is Kylian Mbappe. Then followed by Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham. Even officially, Mbappe leads the FIFA Player Statistics alongside Messi, and sits among the top scorers with 8 goals in 6 games.

Messi for me... A 39 year old competing at d highest stage with the likes of Mbappe, Haaland, Olise, Dembele, Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham who are in their prime and far younger than Messi
