The Ibos know themselves and they have responded to me in their usual manner of attacking the truth on this thread already. Sorry, you came late to the party.
Stop gaslighting Oga. They are not attacking you, they have asked you questions that you are avoiding to answer.

Almost half of Igbos voted for the Muslim Muslim ticket of Abiola-Kingibe
It was because of the personality of Abiola.

Story... Now that he has set a precedent that it is possible, it can now be referenced.
What precedence has he set? The argument has always been that a Northern Christian has never been Vice or president. The precedence would have been if he selected a Northern Christian as Vice to break the jinx. But he played safe by repeating the muslim-muslim ticket because those Hausa-Fulani votes are too juicy to pass up on. Now, you're hoping to benefit from both sides by promising Northern Christians the presidency in 2031. Same people that you can not risk a VP slot for.

Ojukwu was in exile in 1979.

Since a Muslim - Muslim ticket is operational in Nigeria today, can we also expect the reverse scenario in the nearest future ?

Will the North agree to this?

Does it make any difference

I would rather look forward to integrity - corruption free ticket
Re: Can There Ever Be A Christian - Christian Presidential Ticket In Nigeria? by Teymanhenry(f): 3:13pm On Jul 14
Will be hard bro. We have more dominant Muslim politicians than Christians and we arguably have more Muslims than Christians.

So through normal elections, the Christian Christian ticket will fail almost every time

Yes, Awolowo picked a deputy from Igbo land and it made it a Christian-Christian ticket. Igbos voted against it, even millions of Northerners voted for the ticket. You can go and check the breakdown of the 1979 Presidential election results on Google
Which millions of northerners when Shagari was on the ballot? Oga slow down to dey lie all because of tribalism.
Re: Can There Ever Be A Christian - Christian Presidential Ticket In Nigeria? by kinharold(m): 3:14pm On Jul 14
It is very possible. Pick a Christian from the West, then a Christian form the Middle Belt say plateau or Benue State. South and Middlebelt combo will win election anytime, especially with the current security situation coming from the upper side. Check.

Why not so long as there was Muslim Muslim we will also witness a Christian Christian ticket too.
U think we will forever continue like this? People mindset will change overtime, the one u are seeing today will go away, and new generation will come with different thinking.
Nigeria u are seeing today some 40 to 50 years ago it wasn't like this.
And u think it wouldn't change either again?

We can also consider female-female ticket. Men have been ruling since 1960 with nothing to show so we might as well try the women for 8 years while we manage senate presidency.

Instead of asking for competent leadership you’re rather focusing on religion stand .

After all the midnight prayers against Muslim Muslim ticket they still won. That’s to show you how useless all those religious prayers are . Yet you guys couldn’t learn

How many South east states have Muslims even as deputy governor?

There is Christian - Christian tickets in all the 5 Igbo states
Because any Muslim from the southeast is a FAKE Muslim induced by money.
Igbos don't do Islam. That's one of the reasons they want to opt out of Nigeria, so that rest of Nigeria will declare Nigeria an Islamic state to be ruled by Mullahs forever.

Agree?

Politics is not about a region agreeing to anything my brother. Is about getting the numbers and knowing how it's being played. You build bridges etc.

Name one Muslim Politician in each of the 5 states in the East that you know or may not. What is the size of Muslims in each of those states, I am not even talking of indigenous Muslims. Common sense no common.

Never because the north is predominantly Muslim and either we like it or not, they control the political dynamics of this country.

President Shehu Shagari pardoned Ojukwu and Gowon and Ojukwu returned to Nigeria in 1982. He contested a senatorial election in 1983 on the platform of the NPN, but lost the election.

He contested presidential election for the first time in 2003.

Re: Can There Ever Be A Christian - Christian Presidential Ticket In Nigeria? by lawani(m): 3:32pm On Jul 14
The most likely scenario of a Christian Christian ticket is if a Northern Christian is the Presidential candidate and he is supported by the SW then such a person can win

That of a Muslim Muslim is a Yoruba candidate seeking the support of conservative Northern Muslims. However if it was Prof Osinbajo that contested the last election he would have won. Religion in Nigeria is not always important. If you think Osinbajo would not have won. Ask yourself who would have won and who would have voted against him that voted for Tinubu? Which zones or which states? Osinbajo stood a better chance of winning Lagos and all the protest votes from Christians as well as the numbers Tinubu got in the NW. He would have won with a wider margin

Whether you voted for the man who starved you or not is a discussion for another day. This thread is about if there had been a Christian-Christian arrangement or not. Let it be noted that the two Christian southerners would have won very easily if your people hadn’t betrayed we the southerners. You all voted for shagari, your master and savior.
