A picture of the meal would've made more sense to properly project her reason for the 22k.

We should consider the location/rent, electricity and staff salaries.

Location is just the main difference. She sited her business in an environment where the people prioritize quality over quantity. If she site it in a different location where people just want to eat whatever makes their belly full ,it will be hard to break even talk less of making profit.
Like you pointed out, location is key. That location is where everyone wants to form posh and expensive not really about quality.

I have always wondered why Nigerians have never been adventurous with Akara.

Why not add sardines, fish, meat, or other things to the Akara, and not just pepper and onions? It would be a wonderful experience
Una wan take style make akara go beyond the affordability of the poor. E no go work for una.

Even if that akara is sold in jupiter ,is still expensive...we like taking advantage of one other and we call it package...how much is that chicken, seafood etc that could have made it that expensive...well certainly yahoo boys and dubious rich folks will waste such amount in the name of class ....
Kingpele, no be by force o. What you're seeing is akara packaging and it's meant for those who can afford it.

I know you will say so. You like promoting nonsense just to justify Remi's statement.

It is Akara for God's sake. Bean cake is all it is. Don't make people start stealing, kidnapping and killing just to be able to afford a 22k Akara or what do you think will happen when people start encouraging that there is nothing wrong with Akara of 22k.....

Business that can’t be sustained for a long time in this country.

Akara is supposed to be made of beans, pepper, salt and dried in oil.

Any additions such as meat, fish etc doesn’t make it Akara anymore.

The beauty of Akara is its simplicity.
The comment I was waiting for 💯

The simplicity is what makes Akara what it is. That's why it is akara.

It's the problem with the average Nigerian.
We aren't adventurous in business unless it is ruinous or already successful.
Personalise that statement to you and don't generalise or speak on behalf of Nigerians

To be honest this is very funny.

I don't care about the packing but this very outrageous.

Akara is a road side food or should I say a street food like Okpa, Suya etc.
It is not what should be sold in a fancy restaurant for huge amount of money weather beef or Suya Akara.

Shaaa. This is Nigeria with many package broke people claiming to be rich to impress who don't care about them

In the North you can use that 22K to start your own road side Akara business.

May God help us

There is something wrong with wasting money.
It is only an African big man mentality that makes people think that "if you have money, spend money."

You will NEVER see the CEO of Citadel buy a $300 plate of spaghetti when he can obtain a $20 plate. But you will see a "oney na water" Cubanna chief priest spend N5 million to drink a bottle of wine in front of a camera because he thinks he has the money to do it and needs to show he does.
Bro leave that thing. Restaurants catering to the ultra wealthy do even worse than this over priced akara.

What do you mean by "ultra wealthy"
I guess it is only in Nigeria that you see those "ultra wealthy."

But here in Europe, CEOs of the best capital investment firms take Starbucks coffee, even celebrities shop at normal malls, and government officials use normal pubs.

But only in Nigeria is there something like "ultra wealthy."
And I am sure that the "ultra wealthy" people you are talking about are the ones your social media skit makers like Carter Efe, Nas Boi, Wizkid, etc. are talking about.
Na dem dey deceive una.

grin grin grin

Highly expensive restaurants in Europe are not even for the "wealthy."
They are for people who want to spend a good "once in a season" evening with their loved ones and family.
But una dey do "ultra wealthy" only restaurants.

Bro google the most expensive restaurants near you and compare their prices to the regular ones or this overpriced akara.

What do you mean only in Nigeria is there ultra wealthy? What do you call the likes of Bernard Arnault (France) – Chairman and CEO of LVMH, the luxury goods conglomerate, with a net worth of $192.7 billion or Amancio Ortega (Spain) – Founder of Inditex, the parent company of Zara, with a net worth of $111.3 billion. You think their money is akara money?

So the corruption supporters think that this is what Remi meant. Sue meant the N50 akara by the roadside. If na like this she would never have to them to sell akara
