🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Former England players' statements ahead of England vs Argentina World Cup semi-final:

🚨🗣️ Ian Wright: "I don't fear Argentina like I'd fear France or Spain, because I think there are a lot of fallacies with them..."

🚨🗣️ John Terry: "If I’m being honest Argentina don’t worry me. I don’t look at Argentina and think they’re better than us. Player for player, I think we’re better than Argentina."

🚨🗣️ Gary Neville: "With the centre backs they have, I can’t see us not scoring at least two goals."

🚨🗣️ Joe Cole: "We're going to have to put Messi to sleep. We're going to put him to sleep. I'm saying it now, we're going to reach the World Cup final."

2020 is too old na, you started watching him 2025, once they can defend their point, they will attack you ball knowledge and start asking you when started watching football

I know Ruiz and Olmo are not like Xavi and Iniesta but those two always deliver for Spain. They're very technical and good on the ball. I dare say they're more defensively solid.
Nah, that might be a tad too far.

Xavi & Iniesta ran that Spanish team that won 2 Euros and a World Cup. And that team hardly conceded goals as well as they were always winning with clean sheets.

They also pressed more intensely and recovered possession quicker from opponents than Ruiz and Olmo.

If Spain 2010 played this French team, they'd cry of starvation way more than yesterday.

Olise flopped almost throughout the knockout stage. Immediately it got to Rd 16 his assists dried up but his nonchalant fine boy football continued. He kept trying to nutmeg Spanish players that if you lose the ball to them, it will take you 4 Eke market days to get the ball back.
He did the same thing when Bayern played Arsenal in the group stage of the Champions league this recently concluded season. He ran into pack of bodies while trying to "drimble" and nutmeg his way out of Arsenal's defense, only for it to lead to Arsenal's counterattack for Martinelli's goal

Na bad prediction with empty confidence do you, you no Kee person.
My prediction was on point, the only reason Spain won that game yesterday was because of "THE AIRMARK CURSE"

I totally underrated the power of the Airmark curse that's why I was confident France would win, never again

At this point u must be wondering, what is the Airmark curse?

Go and check the rules on any handball (intentional or not) giving the attacker a goal advantage. AI cannot interpret FIFALONA own rules in isolation. If the handball is unintentional but leads to a goalscoring opportunity , the goal is to be cancelled. The VAR should be sacked.
Exactly what I thought yesterday, the handball should also affect the decision

Xavi and Iniesta were renowned for their ability to keep the ball. Ruiz is physically strong and more defensively aware than Xavi. Just the same way Olmo is not as good as Iniesta on the ball but he covers a lot of ground and helps in defending. It is from this premise I made that comment.

Have you been watching Argentina? The major criticism of Scaloni has been the fact that they play too narrow with 4 CMs and Messi, who operates centrally.

Bar Yamal, Spain are not a threat from the wings especially with Williams still not match-fit. Baena is useless and Oyarzabal is also useless.
Yes I have been watching argentines play.. Even with the 4CMs they will find it difficult to keep possession with this Spanish team. I agree Baena and Oyarzabal might underperform but their midfielders have a way to penetrate passes behind defences making their "uselessness" insignificant.

This Spanish team overall play covers individual lapses and aside Messi magic moments there's no way they can't hurt argentina team with goals.

You want players that were not raised in LA Masia set up to thrive in Barca midfield? Abeg nau. Stop using bias to argue. You even mentioned Alexander Hleb. Hleb na DM? Don't you know Hleb age before you brought him to Barca?

Barcelona has a particular playing style and we all know it. Spain borrowed it in the National team as well. Same way Italy used to play Catennacio and Brazil Jogo Bonito

Pep, Enrique all these guys learned from Cruyff, LVG and tweaked one or two things. Del Bosque did copy and paste as well.

There's nothing exceptional about Busquets and his lack of success outside the generational greats he had as teammates says it all.

Everytime he had to stand on his own it's been huge embarrassing failure
Cesc Fabregas was brought up in La masia but failed to replace Xavi at Barca .

Rakitic was not a la masia product but yet did well at Barca .

Pls give me a different excuse than regurgitating this old narratives of la masia and pep style.

Olise was missing in that second-leg game against PSG because Luis Enrique detailed Ruiz to stop him.
Today, he was missing for the entire game. His nonchalant approach to the game is funny until it gets to a point where it hurts the team. Dembele had a bad game, but you can not fault his effort; he kept on trying...

Olise should step up; nobody cares about whatever he does in the Buli. It is in big tournaments and in important games like today's that top players are defined.
When you meet a better team, everything you do suddenly looks like a mistake. The same tactics that work against weaker opponents often don't work against stronger ones.
Spain outperformed France in every department yesterday. It wasn't that the French players had a bad game, Spain were simply too good to allow them play their game .
There were even moments when we felt like the referee was trying to keep the scoreline respectable, because Yamal's disallowed goal looked legitimate to me. That semi-automated offside nonsense certainly didn't do enough to convince us that the decision was correct.

Just show me one team Busquets has successfully led as the main man and I will rest my case.

Don't tell me what Del Bosque said, or what King Alberto said. Receipts and numbers

Just give me one season Barca had that Busquets was head and shoulders above your midfielders. Even if it was a trophyless season. As far it was without Pep and Xavi I will accept
Whilst asking me to do that for Sergio Busquet, you can garnish us with that of Claude Makelele too.

You know personal accolades defines a DM now.

Why are non of your favorite DMs as successful as mine? We all saw how your no weakness Horjtout ended up.

You really disappoint me for someone who claims to be a midfield expert. A DMs job is to help his team keep possession of the ball. Only when his team loses possession is when his ball recovery technique comes into play. When they have positional discipline and spatial awareness, being fast or slow becomes insignificant.

There’s a reason Caicedo who in your school has no weakness lost the midfield to old Jorginho when we faced Flamengo. Go and rewatch the game without sentiment and see how Jorginho endlessly ran to ensure Flamengo kept hold of the ball.

If turning with a man behind you is how you rate DMs, then I fear I might have even grossly overrated you.
Same Jogginho that turn to a bus parking merchant when match is hot and he is being pressed cos he cannot turn on ball. It's only against Wigan them that he will know he is a possession expert. Soon as he sees a decent team, he will start hiding.

Las las Caicedo won that CWC while Joggingho went to Arsenal to be benched by Partey which is his level.

Which DMs do you rate highly?

Aside maybe Xabi Alonso, cant really wrap my head round anyone like that in the last 15 years thereabouts
Alonso isn't one of those, he lost mobility by Madrid days. Maybe he never had it sef.

João Neves is one of those.

Modric if played deep is one of those. He has the speed for recovery, the turns and the passing.

Makelele and Fernandinho are one of those to a certain extent.
