Former Chelsea midfielder, Claude Makelele, has picked France captain Kylian Mbappe as the player to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Makelele described Mbappe as a phenomenon, who is having an outstanding performance at the World Cup.

“I hope Mbappe wins the Ballon d’Or. He didn’t win many titles at Real Madrid this season, but his performance in the World Cup was outstanding,” Makelele told Marca.

“We called Ronaldo ‘the phenomenon’ for a reason, and Mbappe is the phenomenon of his generation.

“The scary thing is, he has more to prove. So yes, I am convinced he is the closest we have to a new R9.”

Mbappe is expected to rival the likes of Harry Kane, Ousmane Dembele and, among others, for the Ballon d’Or

For me I don't think Ballon Dior have a criteria. Because they keep changing the rules.

Also I think it's time FIFA create award for most racially abused players.

In a world cup year, winning the world cup plays a significant role on who wins the Ballon D'or......Mbappe would've been the favorite if France had won tho Dembele and Oliseh his fellow teammates are also strong contenders but it Spain wins it will be Yamal.....Messi will be a strong contender if Argentina wins it and also Kane,Rice and Bellingham will also be strong contenders should England win it....no clear favorite as at now.

It is not who I or you or Makele thinks, it is who they vote to win that will win Balloon Dor.
What exactly has Mpappe achieve this season to deserve it?

They announce Mpappe now, Lamin Yamal and those supporting him will cry foul.
Erling Harland and Dembele nkor?
Have they not tried this season to deserve it too?
The whole thing is now full of controversies.

But for me, I think Earling Harland is a better striker than Mpappe.
Harland is a beast.

Not possible. Messi is playing in the USA. Inter Miami won the equivalent of the english fa cup, but they did not win the league. And they have never won the concacaf champions cup either.

I don't think so. Rather I think it's time for we black to let the word racism go extinct. Rather than saying he racially abused me, we say 'he abused me'. In that way we can abuse them back successfully. If they sound like monkey to mock you, you too grunt like pig to mock them. When we all keep doing that, everybody go tire.
