OCTAVO:It's not complete, 25.6V at 280Ah not 314Ah as advertised. Do your multiplication to get the Kwh. |

micxwell:But at 280ah it is the cheapest you can find. Also they never said that it was 314 from manufacturer (official site;says 280ah labeled) but from china to here you see increase in sticker label. |

Haykay2001:Okay, This looks like a very reasonable option if you were in Lagos. Secondly, I don’t know how fast you want to let go of the panel because I’ll just have to sell this new 585 watt to afford it. Though it won’t be a problem for me, it just depends on your own timing and patience. Meanwhile can you take a picture of the properties of the panel so gurus in the house can help me ascertain if it would work for this my lazy Haisic inverter? |

Hello House Please had anyone used the Growatt 6kva inverter (SPF6000ESPlus) Saw some negative reviews about Growatt inverters packing up within few years and choose to ask I will appreciate a candid advice |

eghos12:I bought it already 😂 na. It's a very good battery for the price. I plan to buy the one with tyre for personal use; it just this parameters ish that I'm not really used to. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:40pm On Jul 15 |
Pabodo:Generally, Growatt is a budget brand. You get what you pay for. If you see the ones that wouldn't packUp within a few years, most still wouldn't buy due to cost. TransformerLess inverters generally can't last as much as Transformer based inverters BUT even among them, quality matters. Now add the fact a lot of people abuse their inverters. What I do for most clients when buying or recommending inverters for them is: if they need 2Kva, I recommend at least 3.5kva or 4.2kva That way, chances of them ever reaching 40% load would be very far. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 3:06am On Jul 16 |
I presently use this model. 1. Make sure u buy from fouani 2. Follow their strict installation procedures(like 5 or 6 rules else u will void ur warranty) 3. Of all the 6000es+ I've installed only one got faulty and fouani technician could not trace the faulty so they replaced the board n it's completely free. 4. Don't go beyond 80% load(I personally stick to this rule for all my inverters and none has gone bad all these while). 5. Make sure u don't connect ur panels to ur house earth. Run a separe rod for them. Pabodo: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 5:39am On Jul 16 |
temizeee:Sir/Ma, wouldn't be nice blaming someOne not attempting risks you wouldn't share in. Myself have shared 3 or 4 things to experience should it be done in series and going bad is the worst case. Of course most times the inverter wouldn't go bad, performance could drop and/or you stress the components of your system. Have had to reduce panels just so it works better. Have encountered such issue with clients (mostly from Nairaland) who bought things themselves. Most times I try work around it and things work Okay. A few times, there are complains where it works well sometimes BUT stops charging some other times (especially when the sun comes out well) Another is, that person you expect to blindly take such risk, you ever bother to know how easy it was for them to afford it in the first place? There are lots of silly things we technicians do and get away with because often when issues arise, it's difficult to actually know the root cause especially if it's been a while. That thing go work BUT I can't beat ma chest and give such assurance hence better to be cautious than stewpid. Na only the installer wey get physical access to said setUp fit know better. Mind you, na sticker pictures we see, not the actual readings (since we don't even know nature of the panels) at when said panels are giving near max output. Mind you, Our role is to suggest, advise and guide. Not coerce / guilt-trip. Choosing to follow our advice is completely up to them, because the final responsibility for the outcome rests solely with them. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 6:01am On Jul 16 |
jFrankNorfleet:Have attached a screenshot of comment by @Jefferyzz which appeared directly underneath your comment. Now what I meant is, You really shouldn't expect Clients to always do as told so you either prevent abuse or make it less likely for them to get to that stage. Of course even when a client is willing to do exactly as told (most whose money are directly involved would), what about others in the family e.g Wife, Kids, etc ? In software security, we never TRUST the user hence we Verify Everything. It's one of the best way to remain secure. We don't just expect the User to do what's Right. Mind you, that "user" could be anything including the web browser. Back to topic; if I check your load and see the things you got, I attempt to by default size your system based on the things I see, not necessarily those you say you would only RUN. Hence if ordinarily a 2Kva inverter would do, I could suggest 3.5kva or 4kva. Whatever load that would make an inverter say 50% could make another inverter say 100% or 20% or 70% or whatever. That variable is the inverter's size. When a person's 2kva inverter say 50% looad, another inverter of 4kva could say 1% load. That's the idea and it's also what @Jefferyzz meant. It's similar to what's done with batteries (actually all battery chemistries though leadAcid batteries are most obvious)

Know this and have peace: For any inverter to last long, it is suggested to only have an 80% maximum load compared to its power rating when running continuously. That is, you only load it up to 80% of its maximum capacity for continuous use. A key benefit of this is that at 80% load, the current draw from the BB remains at an ideal level - around 100A - which contributes a great deal to efficiency and heat management. For example, an Inverter rated for 1,500W Continuous Power, shouldn't be loaded beyond 1,200W (80% utilization) 1,200W/12.8V = 93A current draw (for 12Vdc system) Pabodo: |

Pabodo:Buy. I'd say this based on like over 10 locations that I know that has the 5000 series. It's been many years (at least more than 3 in average). No issues. But the only caveat I'd put here is do a fresh earth, spend that ₦100k+ on a good earth. Growatt is an amazing inverter. |

House, I am selling the following 12v 280ah battery which I ordered directly from Selina China. It is now surplus to requirement so I am selling. The battery cells are brand new and are not coupled yet. They are also grade A full capacity. However, the 12v jkbms is also available and included and I can couple the battery before sending or you can do it yourself if DIY is your thing. Includes the battery box too. I also have 3 units of original jinko 435w panels. Panels were used by me for 6 months before I switched to larger panels due to extra need. I would prefer to sell both as a package for someone starting his solar journey. I am in Benin but can send to Lagos or anywhere easily. I am asking 750k for both items as I just want them gone. You can come check it it out if you want or send someone over. Call 08038896842 for any questions.

Solar people, I need help. Like many of us, I bought a "dumb" inverter. It works, but it tells me nothing beyond what is happening point-in-time. It does not record what my panels actually produce, nor can I access previous logs. My setup: two Powmr MPPT charge controllers (max PV array Voc 105 V each) feeding a shared battery bank, plus the hybrid inverter's own internal controller (max PV array Voc 85 V), which goes straight into the inverter. My question: is there a device I can install between the panels and the charge controller that will log production for me? I already know that with three separate PV inputs, a full house total means three separate devices. That is the part I am weighing. What triggered this: I recently installed a WiFi circuit breaker to meter the power I share with my neighbour, and the visibility has been eye opening. Now I want that same visibility for every circuit in the house. Honestly, I don't know how I have been flying blind all this while. Extra question for the experts: with three PV inputs, is the smarter move three separate meters, or should I be metering the battery bus instead and living with a slightly lower number? Or should I forget production entirely and just meter the load side, in which case the WiFi breakers would serve me very well? Anybody with better knowledge, abeg help a brother out. What did you do on/with your setup? |

Easiest way I can think of right now is to shunt your busbar with a dc WiFi shunt meter. FEGEITOK: |
