A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, has ordered the final forfeiture of assets linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the federal government.

The assets include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash and N30 million.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie made the order on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking the final forfeiture of the properties.

According to the court, the forfeited assets comprise jewellery worth N4,645,170,294.09, 11 exotic vehicles valued at N4,293,000,000, $50,000 and N30 million in cash

What a wicked country. I think these were accumulated during Buhari reign. Every individual that served under Buhari should diligently get probed by this government and I hope same probe should be applied to the people serving presently under Tinubu after his tenure one way or the other.

I must wonder, especially after the acquittal of Alison-Madueke, if some might be being hounded for their wealth?

With the caveat that a squeaky clean person in Nigeria can never be that rich, I presume.

Addressing her well-documented access to political power — illustrated by Sanwo-Olu’s presence at her birthday — Achimugu argued that her connections were a function of her success, not its cause.

“I have always had access to power and governance. I’m a known Nigerian. I have friends, and I have done well. I have not done anything that will make anyone stay away from me,” she said.

Dem take am resemble the chief forfeiture of Nigeria himself, someone who conveniently forfeited over 400k American dollar and walked away. If the money was clean, he'd do all he could to safeguard and retain it. How Nigeria became this dumb and allowed this man to lead over 200m sane and innocent Nigerians is baffling.
