VIDEO: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSXBMCCnW/ "We need to have a very uncomfortable conversation about Ghana. Right now, Accra is leading a furious diplomatic campaign to paint South Africa as a continental pariah. A diplomatic row is brewing between Accra and South Africa after claims of xenophobic violence. But if you look behind the moral outrage at xenophobia in South Africa, the truth is starting to unravel. Yes, we have deep, painful issues with the anti-migrant sentiment in South Africa that our country and our government must fix. But Accra has weaponised the recent xenophobia wave, and to be honest, they have been using official channels to perpetuate misinformation. First, it was labeling a tragic extortion shooting in Cape Town as a xenophobic assassination, which was not the case. They even twisted a routine summit schedule to claim that they snubbed President Cyril Ramaphosa from visiting Ghana because of the xenophobic wave, and that's not true. So why the sudden hostility? The answer isn't in our streets. It's in Ghana's lucrative goldfields. Accra recently shocked the mining sector by refusing to renew the lease of a South African company, goldfields, at its Tamang mine, a site that the South African company has run since the 90s, and now they've given it to a local firm run by the president's own brother. By painting South Africa as a moral pariah linked to the anti-migrant crisis, Accra manufactures the political capital it needs to legitimize their moves, which is basically resource nationalism, and the asset stripping of a South African company. So here's the thing: Ghana is growing at a roaring 6.4% per quarter. They want to be the undisputed powerhouse of West Africa, and to do that, they are flexing their muscle against the continent's economic giant, South Africa. This is why Dirco (Foreign Affairs) Minister Ronald Lamola cannot treat this with passive diplomacy. We must summon the High Commissioner and demand answers. We cannot allow our national shame to weaponize by regional rivals for something beyond our understanding. It's time to call out the Accra agenda. It's a scramble for economic power that's disguised as moral outrage." - Qaanitah Hunter, News24 nlfpmod mynd44

RandDigital:Very useless, senseless and irresponsible article. You are quiet on the criminal attrocities, killings, lootings, attacks of Xenophobia. You attack Zimbabweans, whose country did a lot to assist S/Africa gain independence. Malawians, Nigerians etc. Ghana is the owner of their gold and give it to whoever they want, It is not your business. Go extract the gold in your country South Africa. International trade and migration can only go together. You cannot enjoy the benefits of one and deny the other |

RandDigital:Very interesting insight into Ramophisas planned visit to Ghana which, according to Ghana, has to be pushed out because of ongoing issues related to the anti-immigrants rioting in South Africa. 🥱 |

The resources of Ghana belongs to Ghanaians. The people of Ghana decide who gets what. And the people of Ghana have decided that it is time to seek indigenous ownership of their resources. They need all the resources of the country to "fix their country." South Africans wants to eat their cake and have it? You don't want foreigners in your country, but you want their resources? ![]() |

RandDigital:I heard your people have started complaining bitterly about keeping and managing the foreign businesses that they took over forcefully through your Operation Dudula Accordingly, reports from South Africa indicate that many local traders and community members are facing a decline in sales following the forced closures and mass exodus of foreign-owned businesses.Following anti-migrant campaigns and protests by groups like Operation Dudula, residents and traders in several townships are lamenting the lack of foot traffic and are struggling to keep their businesses stocked and profitable. Many community members have noted that the sudden departure of foreign operators disrupted local supply chains, and locals attempting to take over the small-scale retail and "spaza" shops are struggling to retain the previous customer baseI guess y'all should just do what you are good at, sitting on your lazy asses and wait for government grants and freebies to feed on. This is only a tip of the iceberg ![]() |

RandDigital:You forgot that South Africa was nothing near ''richest country in Africa'' during apartheid? The economy expanded only after apartheid was over and SA companies had the opportunity to expand into other African countries; and they started repatriating profits back home every year to improve the local economy. Companies like MTN, SA Breweries, Nampak, RMB, ABSA, etc. are making profits in other African countries and repatriating back to SA. Yet you discriminate against these fellow blacks but cannot do anything about white immigrants. Shameful inferiority complex |

kiddaz:Chai!, I thought they were best friends with the Ghanaians? How the tables have turned so quickly and ofcourse it's never their fault. Its the Ghanaians trying to isolate them from the rest of Africa. |

mikeapollo:Its a lie that SA was 'nowhere near biggest economy" during apartheid - it was the apex and most industrialised for a long time until economic sanctions. Yes, SA companies expanded into the continent during black rule but SA's top 5 trading partners are outside of Africa. We don't suffer from inferiority complex - there have been decades of reconcilation and development programmes in SA to mend racial divides. So, sorry for you you're not seeing cracks and hate between blacks and whites on SA - we know that would give you great pleasure in West Africa. |

RandDigital:SA was always under economic sanctions until apartheid was over; so when was the economy at ''the apex for along time until economic sanctions''? You seem not to understand the difference between investments and trade: SA biggest companies are making their biggest profits from investments in other African countries; It is different from trading (buying and selling goods/services) between SA and other countries like China, India etc Can you mention SA biggest companies operating in China, India, US etc. that are making billions and repatriating the profits back home?. Look, let me tell you something: Personally, I like and love SA and the people. No true African can hate or have bad feelings towards you guys, because of the unfortunate experience you went through. I have personally visited SA, and visited Alexandria. I cried when they showed me the house where Mandela lived and was arrested. I also cried, shed uncontrollable tears and wept like a baby (in Lagos) the day I heard that Lucky Dube was shot. But it seems you guys do not appreciate history and are forgetting to learn from history. You guys should know that every country in Africa has had a time when they fell into some economic or social problems, and migration is a natural phenomenon. For some time after independence, Nigeria used to be the best economy in Africa up to the early 1980s; we had Indians, Zimbabweans, Ghanaians, etc as doctors. lecturers in Nigeria. But things became tough and the citizens starting migrating Ghana was the richest country in West Africa in pre-independence era (due to abundance of Gold); but things deteriorated and citizens started migrating. Ghana was home to a lot ANC activists, Robert Mugabe, Kenneth Kaunda etc because of the influence of Kwame Nkrumah. Mugabe was a teacher in Ghana for many years and his first wife was Ghanaian. Hugh Masekela lived in Ghana for several years in the 1960s; he joined a musical band (Hedzoleh) there along with Fela Kuti; and that is where they both learnt the Afro-centric sound that is now themed ''Afrobeat'' Zimbabwe had very good economy; things became tough and the citizens started migrating. Do you think SA is immune to these economic challenges for ever? How do you guys want to be treated if things should become tough in SA and the citizens migrate to other neigbhouring countries? Even if you want to evict illegal migrants from your country, you don't have to attack, kill and loot their shops. Just report them to the police or immigration! What would Africa become if every country should do what SA is doing to fellow blacks?. How do guys feel when you attack, and kill fellow blacks who look just like you, while there are thousands of white immigrants, Lebanese, Indians, etc. who do not have the right papers and yet you guys cannot do anything to them? Don't you have some conscience? Would Mandela be happy in his grave for these things? The man that said you should not retaliate what the white man did to you? But now, you kill innocent fellow black men who have done nothing against you! |

RandDigital:You seem to be very proud of apartheid SA of the 1960s -1990, just because you want to justify your unfortunate actions against fellow blacks? Was SA even ''part of Africa''? You don't know your history anymore? |

mikeapollo:South Africa has always been the giant of Africa - Nigeria only came in coz SA was under sanctions. Black rule accelerated our giant status and shared the wealth with the continent via investment and immigration opportunities, I'm even more proud of that. |

RandDigital:I don't think you understand what you're talking about, Do you go into investments to share wealth or to make profits and gain more? If investments were meant to share wealth, why are you people fighting the whites who own majority of investments in your country, since they would be sharing their wealth with you blacks? Nigeria did not ''come''. Nigeria has always been part of Africa. It is SA that ''came'' to join the party after Mandela was released. How could SA have ''always been'' the giant of Africa when you blacks were being dehumanized. discriminated against, killed, maimed and destroyed by the whites. ? You stll have the shameless ego to boost about this.? Why are you quiet on the main issues about the terrible things you people are doing to black people, while white people without residence permits and papers are walking free in your country? |
