Rabiu Kwankwaso’s renewed sermon about a North–South-East alliance sounds historically attractive—but electorally exaggerated. The former Kano governor speaks as though he carries “the North” in his pocket. He does not. In 2022, while demanding that Peter Obi become his running mate, Kwankwaso claimed northern voters would find it difficult to support a candidate from the South-East. He presented himself and the NNPP as the South-East’s only route to political relevance. Today, after accepting the vice-presidential slot under Obi, the language has changed. Suddenly, the South-East is the North’s historic friend and natural ally. This is not necessarily new conviction. It looks more like **The Kwankwaso Convenience Pivot**—history being rearranged to suit his present position. The 2023 results provide the reality check. Kwankwaso won Kano convincingly with 997,279 votes. But outside Kano, his promised northern political army largely disappeared. He failed to reach 25 per cent in any other northern state. That makes him a formidable Kano champion—not the political landlord of Northern Nigeria. An alliance with Kwankwaso is therefore not automatically an alliance with the North. The North contains governors, traditional political networks, religious and community leaders, competing parties and millions of independent voters whom Kwankwaso neither owns nor commands. The historical references to Azikiwe, the NPC, Shagari, Ekwueme and Ojukwu are elegant. But history is not a transferable voter card. My inference is straightforward: Kwankwaso is attempting to convert one-state electoral dominance into the appearance of regional authority because his present position requires him to sell Obi to northern voters. He may deliver Kano. He cannot promise the North. A Kano political emir is not automatically Sultan of the northern ballot. |

Let’s get one thing straight Obi doesn’t have to win north to be president If Obi gets 25% of votes in 8 to 10 core northern states he is president no amount of rigging would stop him Kano Kaduna Bauchi Gombe Jigawa Katsina Niger Yobe Adamawa And sokoto Then it’s over Obi would win Benue, nassarawa ,plateau ,taraba and Abuja with ease If I were Obi I would focus on kogi and Kwara plus oyo there is a Chance he can do well there Don’t expect Obi to still win Lagos sha |

CharlesCNG:Leave obidients and let them keep watching their garri,no matter how much it does, its still remains what it is "garri" Kwakwanso that couldn't even win jigawa,a sister state to kano......he is only being smart by half to justify his newfound popularity and political visibility which obidients are giving him free of charge......he won't win kano come 27, take that to the bank. |

Oya now, leave them to keep wasting their time. Is it not at their own expense. Why are you bothering yourself. Why not cool down and be happy that your candidate will be reelected. If you are so confident and self-assured, what you call Obi / Kwankwaso lack of northern support should stop giving you sleepless nights. |

CharlesCNG:Just like the drug baron went to kaduna to beg el rufai. He equally went to beg Kwankwaso to join apc.At the end you all said they don't have political values in the North. Is the vp of the drug baron that has political values in the North that made him choose Muslim Muslim ticket. Why is the drug baron still keeping el rufai in prison if he is not afraid of what he can do in the North |

Curious345:Obidients brain dead syndrome in full display!! I wrote about Kwankwaso's actual electoral reach, his 2023 vote spread, and why **Kano is not the North**. Your typical brainless obidient response? > "Hungry data boys... Real fullz... Una work don start?" Not one word on Kwankwaso. Not one figure challenged. Not one fact disputed. Just the usual Obidient Abuse Boi routine—when arguments become difficult, insults become the substitute. If you truly have nothing to say about the substance, why not simply keep quiet instead of advertising the emptiness upstairs? As for "una work don start," yes o! The work of scrutinising presidential aspirants has started. That is exactly what am and we keep doing. |

Curious345:😂 My friend , you have now moved from “hungry data boys” to fighting artificial intelligence. But AI did not make Kwankwaso score 997,279 votes in Kano and fail to reach 25% in another northern state. Those are election results, not ChatGPT hallucinations. You still have not challenged one figure. You still have not answered one argument. You are only quarrelling with the person, the keyboard and now the technology. At this rate, if arithmetic embarrasses you, you may soon accuse the calculator of being APC-sponsored. 😄 The question remains simple: Can Kwankwaso deliver the North, or mainly Kano? Answer that. Because “data boy,” “AI,” and “una work don start” are not rebuttals. They are the standard Obidient emergency exit when facts block the main door. When every answer is 'data boy' and every question is 'you're paid,' don't blame others if history calls it a wasted political generation. |

Curious345:My friend , you have now moved from “hungry data boys” to fighting artificial intelligence to ewuu. You still have not challenged one figure. You still have not answered one argument. You are only advertising that you an obidient. please read the user manual How To Spot An Obidient On Nairaland: A User Guide. Not everyone who criticises Tinubu is an Obidient. Not everyone who disagrees with Pastor Adeboye is an Obidient. Not everyone who supports opposition politics is an Obidient. But there is a pattern. If it quacks like an Obidient, insults like an Obidient, dodges facts like an Obidient, and shouts “data boy” like an Obidient, forgive me for recognising the duck. You can usually spot them by the familiar feathers. First, they rarely answer the issue. If you raise facts, they attack your motive. If you ask for evidence, they say you are paid. If you question Peter Obi, they say you are working for APC. If you defend a point they dislike, they call you “data boy.” Second, they confuse abuse with intelligence. Instead of argument, you get insults. Instead of data, you get slogans. Instead of reasoning, you get “fake certificate,” “snatch and grab,” “criminal,” and other recycled chants. Third, they practice selective outrage. When a pastor, activist or elder appears to support Obi, he is a voice of conscience. But if the same type of public figure says something that does not serve their political anger, he becomes tribal, fake, compromised or useless. Fourth, they dodge facts like rain. Present figures, they change topic. Present history, they shout propaganda. Present voting patterns, they reply with emotion. So no, I do not call people Obidient simply because they disagree with me. I notice the uniform: abuse first, evidence last. If it walks like selective outrage, quacks like political intolerance, and swims comfortably in insult, I do not need DNA test to know the species. You can deny being Obidient, but if your argument came from the usual insult factory, do not blame me for identifying the manufacturer. |

Curious345:PUBLIC WARNING: BEWARE OF THE OBIDIENT QUOTE-AND-DISTRACT SCHEME. This public notice is issued by the Nairaland Concerned Readers and Debate Protection Committee to warn forum members about a growing discussion-evading 419 tactic known as the Obidient Quote-and-Distract Scheme. The method is simple. A detailed post presents facts, figures and a clear argument. Unable to answer it, the affected responder ignores the subject and posts something irrelevant such as: Data boy.” “Ewu.” “Who is paying you?” If I slap you…” The purpose is not to debate. It is to bury the original argument beneath insults and drag the conversation into a meaningless personal quarrel. The perpetrators understand that Nairaland replies usually display only the most recent quoted comment, not the original article. They therefore hope that new readers will see the abuse, miss the main issue and forget that no argument was answered. Members of the public are advised not to be deceived. Whenever this tactic appears, calmly ask: “Which specific point in the original post have you rebutted?” If the answer is another insult, the diagnosis is confirmed. This condition is officially known as Obidient Argument-Evasion Syndrome: a sudden loss of comprehension whenever facts become uncomfortable. Please remain alert. Do not feed the distraction. Return them immediately to the original argument. Signed: CharlesCNG Nairaland Concerned Readers and Debate Protection Committee. |

helinues:My brother, I perfectly understand the advice, but I think blocking them only rewards the behaviour. Honestly, ignoring this online terrorist group is like paying ransom to bandits. The immediate problem disappears, but the incentive remains. Once people discover that insults and thread-derailment get them the outcome they want, they'll simply repeat the tactic elsewhere. My approach is different. I expose the diversion, redirect readers to the original argument, and let everyone see the contrast between evidence and abuse. The objective isn't to convince the serial abuser—they've usually made up their minds. It's to ensure that silent readers can distinguish between someone answering an argument and someone trying to bury it. If every serious poster simply blocks thread derailers, the tactic wins by default. Sometimes the best antidote to bad-faith debating is to shine a bright light on it, not quietly remove it from view. |

CharlesCNG:By the time they do their coordinated attack on you which might be getting you banned unnecessarily, then you will understand Is there anything you can learn with engaging with them? Absolutely nothing. If they are known as the fabricator of lies, best is to allow them to be deceiving themselves without fueling their egos |
