PRESS RELEASE: IGbo ELDERS APPEAL TO UK, SAUDI ARABIA AND BILL GATES: DO NOT SABOTAGE 2027 SOUTH-EAST PRESIDENCY

Aba, Abia State | July 2026

Prominent Igbo elders and stakeholders have issued a strong appeal to the Governments of the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and global philanthropist Bill Gates, urging them not to use their influence to frustrate the emergence of a Nigerian President of South-East extraction in 2027.

The elders said Nigeria’s unity and stability depend on fairness, equity, and adherence to the principle of power rotation among the country’s major regions.

THE CASE THEY ARE MAKING:

1. Equity and Rotation:
Since 1999, Nigeria’s presidency has rotated between the North and South-West. The South-East is the only major region yet to produce an elected President of Nigeria. For national cohesion, 2027 presents a historic opportunity to correct this imbalance.

2. Peter Obi Represents National Aspiration:
Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Presidential candidate, has become the face of that aspiration. Beyond tribe, his campaign in 2023 resonated with millions of Nigerians — young, old, North and South — who voted for competence, accountability, and economic reform.
To block him in 2027 is to tell 60 million Ndigbo that they have no place in the highest office, despite their contributions to Nigeria’s economy and unity.

3. Warning Against Foreign Interference:
The elders cautioned that any attempt by foreign governments, institutions, or influential individuals to influence Nigeria’s 2027 elections against a South-East candidate will be seen as an attack on justice and fairness.
“We respect our international partners. But Nigeria’s presidency is for Nigerians to decide. Do not use aid, investments, or diplomatic influence to stop the South-East,” the statement read in part.

4. The Consequence of Ignoring This:
The elders warned that sabotaging a South-East presidency in 2027 risks mass anger, protests, and deeper divisions.
“If Ndigbo are shut out again in 2027 after playing by the rules, the result will be frustration. We are calling for peace, but peace must be built on justice.”


Nigeria cannot grow when one region is permanently excluded from leadership. Supporting a free, fair 2027 election where a South-Easterner like Peter Obi can contest without external sabotage is supporting Nigerian unity.

The elders said they are not asking for favors, only for a level playing field. “Let the votes count. Let Nigerians choose.”

United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and global philanthropist Bill Gates should allow the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria to be free and fair without any interference from their foreign agents.

If United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia governments and global philanthropist Bill Gates helps tinubu to rigged 2027 presidential election then United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia governments and global philanthropist Bill Gates are the ones looking for igbos trouble and if the igbos decide to retaliate by fighting for their rights against U.k, Saudi Arabia and Bill Gates who are helping tinubu to be re-elected then no ones should blame igbos for what they will do to get justice.

There will be consequences if United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia governments and global philanthropist Bill Gates interfer with the democratic process of the presidential election in Nigeria come 2027.
