Oseni Rufai Breaks Down, Weeps Over Nigeria’s Economy by Islie(op): 2:52pm On Jul 17
By Ochogwu Sunday

Popular television host, Rufai Oseni, on Friday became emotional while lamenting the state of Nigeria’s economy.

During the Arise TV Morning Show, Rufai wondered how Nigeria became a chronic borrower.

Speaking on the programme, Oseni recalled a time when Nigeria was financially strong enough to lend money to international institutions, contrasting it with the current reality of the country’s economy.

He said, “I cried for Nigeria this morning. Let me read something to you and show why I sometimes raise my voice about this country.

“On December 24, 1974, Nigeria signed a long-term borrowing agreement with the World Bank. Under that agreement, Nigeria provided $240 million in net resources to the World Bank Reserve.

“We were lending money to the World Bank to support development in other countries. We also lent $120 million to the International Monetary Fund, IMF. What happened to this country?”

Oseni’s remark is coming amid ongoing concerns over continuous borrowing by the Federal Government as Nigeria’s debt profile continues to rise

Graduate of Animal Husbandry who is supposed to be running a big farm of cattle’s and chickens and making plenty money while making meet available, the dullard is on television calling himself journalist without going to school of Journalism and he is now surprised that cow meat is expensive

240 million dollars in '74 was a lot of money.

What happened is that we had a bunch of lazy, clueless and rudderless leadership since then.

Any sensible person who looks back at Nigeria’s past and compare it to our present will definitely shake his head and weep for the vast amount of damage politicians and military governments have done to this country.

It’s better this country is dissolved and everyone go find his bearing.

It keeps getting worse.

There was a clip I watched on YouTube some days back. This clip showed countries and the number of people in poverty from the 50s till date. It had China, Nigeria, India and some other countries. China and India had the most people in poverty than Nigeria in the 50s, those two countries continually had reduction in the number of those in poverty year on year, Nigeria on the other hand kept having increase. It simply shows that Nigerians were better off in the 50s than today.

Crocodile tears. He really looked like a clown with those tears. A journalist who doesn't know that America the richest country in the world is neck in debt and is still borrowing voraciously. Even Dangote the richest man in Africa always borrows to finance his big projects like the Petroleum Refinery and his cement factory.

I have noticed that Obidients always break down in tears after losing an election or when they sense imminent massive defeat like the one waiting for them in 2027 grin

I don't know how they do it (daily reporting Nigerian News).

I can't do it for 6 months straight. It is terrible for the mind. Imagine occasionally interviewing some of the people contributing to the problem while keeping your cool as they display their hypocrisy.

The guy is a Buddhist bye the way. They believe in bullshit like love and compassion for others.

The world is too cruel to care too much about everybody's problem. Safe yourself first.

One woman has billions in jewelleries alone. The one that they caught.

Another woman under Buhari stole the equivalent of 15% of the national budget for 2021.

He should have wept in 2023/24 not now that the GDP has grown from $187 billion,$252 billion to $377.47 billion.
The Economy is growing but the masses have not felt the impact which some analysts said is going to take a little while.

Minimum wage was lesser than that before baba Tinubu came.
The funny thing is that previous govts were not able to pay salaries of workers, they were owing them 10,20,30 months, not building infrastructures and so on
Their main preoccupation was just embezzling the funds that would have been used for health, education etc's infrastructures.

Guy. USA is owing itself at least 60% of their debt. That’s why they’re not bothered. They can sort it quite easily.

Nigeria on the other hand is owing countries, IMF and world bank.

RUFAI YOU ARE AN ILLITERATE.

GO AND EDUCATE YOURSELF.

NIGERIA'S ANNUAL BUDGET IS $40 BILLION FOR ITS 250 MILLION PEOPLE.

SOUTH AFRICA'S ANNUAL BUDGET IS $130 BILLION FOR ITS 60 MILLION PEOPLE.

NIGERIA IS NOT A RICH COUNTRY.

IT NEEDS TO BORROW.

AMERICA'S BUDGET IS $8 TRILLION FOR ITS 320 MILLION PEOPLE.

DESPITE THIS, AMERICA IS STILL THE HIGHEST DEBTOR NATION ON EARTH, OWING OVER $23 TRILLION.

NIGERIA'S DEBT TO GDP RATIO IS VERY MODERATE COMPARED TO OTHER COUNTRIES IN AFRICA AND BEYOND.

IF RUFAI THINKS WE CAN DEVELOP NIGERIA ON A $40 BILLION ANNUAL BUDGET WITHOUT BORROWING, HE JUST CONFIRMS HE IS AN ILLITERATE.

RUFAI, WHATEVER YOU SAW IN 1974 IS FOR YOU TO EXPLAIN.

GOWON WAS A DUMBASS MILITARY DICTATOR OF 35 YRS OLD IN 1974.

HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE OIL BOOM MONEY AND SAID SO HIMSELF.

"NIGERIA'S PROBLEM IS NOT MONEY BUT HOW TO SPEND THE MONEY".

PUTTING ON A PEDESTAL HIS CONFUSED, JUVENILE GOVT'S ACTIONS OF SUPPOSEDLY LENDING THE WORLD BANK MONEY "TO HELP OTHER COUNTRIES" WHEN HIS OWN COUNTRY WAS STILL AN UNDERDEVELOPED BACKWATER WITH NEAR ZERO INFRASTRUCTURE, IS FURTHER PROOF THAT YOU LACK BASIC COMMON SENSE.

RABBLE ROUSER.

Quota system destroyed Nigeria to an extent.
They destroyed nnpc, nitel and even the military.
How do you explain how people like buhari passed and got promoted in the military.
Imagine a buhari ruling a big country like Nigeria.
