He was practically shot at when he visited one of these states. There was no rebuke nor condemnation from the government at the center, which signifies a co-sign of their actions. Unlike in 2023 where a three-horse race was beneficial to Tinubu, Obi contesting in 2027 will be a major setback because Tinubu needs to consolidate the entire South as the North is still highly in doubt. Winning only 4 Southwestern states out of 17 Southern states as he did in 2023 will simply not cut it this time as there will be no buffer from the North. Obi is the only reason why "turn of the South" as a campaign mantra by the APC is not flying. Obi is also the reason why Tinubu had to stick to muslim-muslim ticket.

2023 was only three years ago and there has been no election after that. Tinubu is yet to prove that he can defeat Obi in the Lagos that he governed for 8 years and in which he remains a godfather. Obi is not your mate. There are levels to this thing. The equivalent of that will not be Tinubu winning back Lagos in 2027, it will be winning Anambra state. That will never happen.

Makinde won't even come 5th. The least he can do is come 4th. But he will defeat Tinubu in Oyo and Osun states. The goal is not to win,the goal is to reduce tinubu's vote in the SW and make him lose Oyo particularly. And as Oyo is very strategic and Ibadan being the political headquarters of the SW.

Tinubu will lose the same states he lost in the SW and this time around lose Oyo. Him winning Oyo and Rivers was the leeway for 2023. If not the 2023 election would have gone into runoff.

And that is why they have ganged up against him and are jittery.

And the funniest thing in all of these is that. They don't even know due to the economy and stuff. Tinubu has lost more organic support than he has gained. Precisely. The meritoriously best political leaders don't complain, whinge nor try and play on sentiments.
