Although the region largely supported previous administrations, they failed to repair the road. Ironically, the leader many wanted removed is the one now fixing it

Was it not MTN that renovated this road?

The government might have done finishing touches to the renovation but MTN conceived and started it.
Thanks so much for sharing this excellent evidence of the propaganda and deception behind this OP. Madam moderator, you have done well.

I thought it was only the master strategist who tells lies upandan but I guess the supporters are wicked clones of their idol. shocked

Ofunaofu:
Report: Current Govt Added More Debt in Two Years Than Nigeria Accumulated in 55 Years

• Decries Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio

•Urges FG to declare fiscal emergency

A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.

The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings.
>
>
According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.

The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.

The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.

“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.

It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.

stop being mischievous here. Go and tell that Abdullah ayofe to shut up his mouth.

If tinubu want to take glory from road construction, he should go and reconstruct the Anambra state side of the onitsha - owerri road, not the already taken project by mtn in onitsha - enugu expressway.
Re: Enugu-Onitsha Expressway – Before And After by Akalia(m): 7:37am On Jul 18
I am from Anambra state and I am very glad that this road is finally tarred.
I am not a fan of Tinubu but I must say that Tinubu is doing quite well, when it comes to infrastructural development across the country.
Just that the weight of insecurity and economic hardship together overshadow his good performance with infrastructure.

God bless the presidency, God bless Nigeria.

Why?
You guys forget that the president can also stall the project by making just one phone call, even as una say no be him start the project
grin they called children of hate and perdition for a reason……the only way they can ever be happy is if obi is handed the presidency without election because obi can never win a national election grin

The region indirectly supported the master strategist with their 100% rigged votes for naive son of the soil Obi.

lexylaw40:
The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."

The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.

"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.

"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.

"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.

Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.

The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.

Enugu Onitsha federal road na MTN do am. MTN is so nice.
Listen oga, in 2022, the Federal Executive Council approved MTN Nigeria to take over the completion and rehabilitation of the expressway under the Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme (Executive Order 7). Under this scheme, companies finance eligible federal road projects and recover the cost through future tax credits. This is an order by fPMB, agreed to and monitored by the FG as a means of funding, just like other borrowings and means of funding projects. If FG via ministry and minister for works paused or canceled it, or didn't monitor and follow through, nothing will happen and the road will not be completed. It seems you've not seen politicians that came into power and started erasing and canceling everything their successor wanted to do or did. No worry, in fact, let's thank FIFA or Trump for the road, e no stop wetin you dread for January.
Do u have issue with basic English comprehension?

What exactly is tinubu role in this project

This road reconstruction was not conceived by Tinubu administration
They didn’t award the contract
Tinubu government have not spend one kobo on this road yet taking credit

This is an MTN road done with a tax credit
Conceived and awarded by Buhari administration

Don’t get why Tinubu wants credit
I've always known that some people must still have mouth diarrhea over this.

Buhari awarded the road, why did he not complete it in his 8 years. Even if he did, is he not an APC president?

You are misinforming people here. MTN will recover every kobo spent by not paying CIT due to the federal government, equivalent of the cost of the road project. So, it’s the money the FG should have taken from MTN as Company Income Tax that is being used for the project, FG still takes the credit for the project. MTN is not a charity organization

Buhari kicked off that project using MTN taxes. Tinubu is only continuing it.

Which one did pdp do? At least one can point to five to seven projects done by APC in the south -east
How una dey reason sef abi na dementia dey worry una? The entire east-west road was dualized under pdp, the entire enugu to port Harcourt. Under pdp ferma was active though they are not perfect but at least they carry out regular maintainace to ensure the roads not go totally bad.

Infact that particular road you talking about was even dualized during the pdp government and was left to rot under the APC government same thing they did was Benin warri road.

If we're to count on only the subsidy money we should've surpassed this level not to add the loan join. APC is simply taking billions from us n giving us thousands for christ sake.

The road was in perfect shape during PDP era and regular rehabilitation was carried out by FERMA on the road and That was when FERMA was still active and effective

This same road, Peter Obi built a section of it at Onitsha and Awaka and they are still standing till date
