Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visit To Isaac Fayose Over Wife’s Demise by Ofunaofu(op): 3:17pm On Jul 18

Presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose following the death of his wife, in what observers see as another demonstration of empathy beyond political divides.

Obi’s visit came shortly after he visited former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to sympathise with him over the death of his mother.

Obi was received by Isaac Fayose during the visit, where he expressed his condolences and offered prayers for the repose of the deceased.

The condolence visit comes on the heels of Isaac Fayose’s recent meeting with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, which generated widespread reactions on social media. Some critics had accused Fayose of aligning with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), fuelling speculation about a possible defection to the party.

Against that backdrop, Peter Obi’s visit has attracted renewed public attention, with many observers interpreting it as a gesture of compassion rather than politics

At least, we can all see that Peter Obi is nothing but a desperate opportunist. He never cared about Isaac Fayose and his late wife until Isaac threatened to stop supporting him and boom, he arrived at his doorstep to show faux empathy.

For those who sincerely understands empathy, it is not something that is done for selfish and altruistic reasons. This is not the kind of reactionary and deceptive character that should lead the country.

-Her death was public news.
-Fayose's support for Peter Obi has been public too.

Why wait till the APC team reached out to do what you couldn't; you decided to play to the gallery by reaching out afterwards.

If this was Mama-P or Rinu, would Peter Obi be quiet?
Fayose is also an influential figure of the Obidient movement.

However, I dont think anyone should be demanding for outreach from Peter Obi.
Making Nigeria great again is our collective effort.
If Peter Obi seems to you as the right choice on the ballot, then holistically promote his success, which would be a success for all Nigerians.
Peter Obi doesn't give shi shi, and can't go around caring for every member of the Obidient movement - whether you're a financially supportive member or not.

politicians are the same once you strip away the facade of respectability, so I really do not understand the hullabaloo here.

Did Tinubu not forgive Omokri and FFK's litanny of stinging attacks? Did Atiku not reach across the divide to embrace the likes of Amaechi, Okonkwo, and even El-Rufai (the 15--day jailbird) despite the many two-footed tackles they had lunched in his direction in the past
