And I'm very sure during those quarrels and other faceoffs they may have had, the dead neighbour will always ridicule him with his marital status when they engage in exchange of words....something like "see this one that cannot even marry, is here challenging me that have children" ..."go and marry first before you come back to exchange words with me" ...etc

The killers anger was not just that the victim (his neighbour) always asked him when he was going to get married, He stated clearly that the neighbour always asked in a way to ridicule him, make jest of him. That is where the real pain and anger to kill him stemmed from.
And a lot of times, people that ask this questions add ridicule in their tune, not knowing that it really upsets and pains the unmarried person, especially when you don't know the challenges and difficulties he is going through that has led to him being unmarried at that age.

Well, who am I to judge him, a woman in her mid 50s at the office have frustrated my life of why I am not married in my mind 30s. If a staff gives birth, she carries the baby, and ask a co staff to call me, on reaching there, ask the same question she has asked and have gotten answers severally. As if, that is not enough, she has told,all close colleagues that the should tell me to get married. Meanwhile this woman , a mother of five left her own marriage four years ago and have started sleeping around. The society just become demons in our lives , mounting pressure on you without knowing how U feel deep inside.

Yes. That's if the other two options I mentioned earlier doesn't work. It's just to avoid a situation like this. The way we deal with issues differ from one person to another depending on how affected or our reaction would be. People like him who are prone to getting very angry to the extent of inflicting physical harm usually choose avoidance.

And for the neighbor,I won't say he got what he deserved, but sometimes it is wise to mind your own business.
I remembered one short story we were told when we were young about tortoise 🐢 and his grandson.
His grandson asked him:grandpa you are the only one that have lived longest in our town, can you tell me the secret, and the tortoise reply was:I always mind my own business,I don't poke nose into matters that doesn't concern me.

Omo...how are you handling this situation. I ask cos I'm kinda in the same shoes, and I almost got physical with one of my friend's last month. If not for some of our mutual friends, I already planned to cut the guy off permanently. The guy wahala too much on top this marriage matter.
