A bittersweet moment for us Barcelona fans. We love Lionel Messi so much but I think Spain and our Barcelona players needed this victory more. We're building a great squad and winning the World Cup is going to give our players immense confidence and build their belief.

Attention must now turn to how we can extend this to dominating in the Europe where we have struggled a lot. But having 8 players coming home as world champions is a great way to get this underway.

It’s the same recycled lines every time, “hard work,” “GOAT,” “siuu,” “conquered,” “corruption,” rinse and repeat. And if we’re talking about winning with controversies, his teams are basically the industry leaders. If we’re talking about individuals getting direct favour from FIFA, Ronaldo’s name pops up fast (Ballon d’Or voting extensions, red card suspensions magically disappearing, the whole package). You don’t become relevant by downplaying other people’s achievements.
