Frankly I see nothing wrong in Nigerians carrying their struggling brothers. A few truly rich ones should not make us lose sight of the realities, there is extreme poverty out there and ego with loud mouth won't cover it up. Kudos to Nigeria.

The companies pay all their taxes in Lagos where they have their official location address .

This is really absurd,how can SE contribute less than all 3 northern regions riddled with insecurity, poverty and illiteracy......it really beats me hollow,can someone pls explain how.......onitsha,anambra alone should obscure so many northern states combined based on level of economic activity and owerri,night life and entertainment economy would dwarf that of many southern states.

The bulk of economic activity in theSE is trade/commerce. Majority of that is not captured as effectively as PAYE which accounts for the bulk of VAT fron the non oil states.

Also ,on the direct consumption side, many small private business or service providers in the SE rarely charge VAT. But in Lagos for instance, even restaurant go charge you VAT. It is an easy way to make extra. They remmitt whatever fraction they like to the govt.

There is a reason why these clowns never talk about GDP or analyze other revenue sources apart from VAT. The numbers paint a very different picture
