The bulk of economic activity in theSE is trade/commerce. Majority of that is not captured as effectively as PAYE which accounts for the bulk of VAT fron the non oil states.

Also ,on the direct consumption side, many small private business or service providers in the SE rarely charge VAT. But in Lagos for instance, even restaurant go charge you VAT. It is an easy way to make extra. They remmitt whatever fraction they like to the govt.

There is a reason why these clowns never talk about GDP or analyze other revenue sources apart from VAT. The numbers paint a very different picture

tell us what makes SE the most developed region? How many industries, infrastructure, rail,ports etc do you have in SE?
