prince4pro2:Good, just wait for a while. The battery will wake up as soon as the charge power increases. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FEGEITOK: 8:48am On Jul 22 |
my research indicates that I could get a : 12V 10Ah LiFePO4 or a : 12V 12Ah LiFePO4 to fit that space however it is recommended to 1. get a dedicated 14.6V 1A–2A LiFePO4 smart charger into the battery terminals or 2. add an external DC barrel jack. 3. buy inexpensive F2-to-F1 slip-on terminal adapters 4. (or crimp on new F2 female spade terminals). 5. Ensure the LiFePO4 battery you choose has an integrated BMS (Battery Management System) What did the rest of us do? and what is the cost outlay for getting the above done? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Bryanluke: 8:58am On Jul 22 |
Leave lifepo4, they built 18650 12v 14ah for me on a century dc fan. I'm enjoying it. Also your research is right. You need a dc charging jack to charge the battery directly FEGEITOK: |

prince4pro2:enjoy... pls how many panel wattage is giving you that 3ah.. series or parallel |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cutefy: 9:04am On Jul 22 |
prince4pro2:Lessons learnt. You drained your battery below 24v. Try set the low cut off voltage in your inverter to ≥24v to avoid a repeat. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 9:36am On Jul 22 |
FEGEITOK:Great. Then I think you can get something like Bryanluke did then.. It should fit. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 9:38am On Jul 22 |
prince4pro2:Wait your battery die naim u raise alarm say bms shut down? That's not shutdown, it's just the bms cutting off at safe voltage to prevent total shutdown. Normal sun go wake that one. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by prince4pro2(m): 10:37am On Jul 22 |
Bryanluke:420x3 and is not half cut. We soon replace with jinko 620x4 |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ksmart027(m): 11:40am On Jul 22 |
FEGEITOK:Get a 12ah or 18ah lifepo4 battery with bms from 9japrince. It has more life cycle than the 18650 cells. It has similar charging parameter to lead acid so your fan charger will be able to charge it. You can also get charger from ali express if you want to. Got my charger for 4,500. |

jFrankNorfleet:I've installed and started using it since Sunday afternoon This was the final installation 1. 6KVA Deye hybrid inverter 2. 16KWH Deye lithium battery 3. Jinko Bifacial 725W panel. 8 pcs It's been an awesome experience so far as I'm yet to use generator since I switched and the lowest battery percentage I've closed with was around 12:30am at night which was 48%. Now I don't panic when there's no light or when my light trips off, which it did this morning. I'd even say I've only used light to charge the inverter this previous night, aside that it's all been the panel. The panel almost always, even at slightly cloudy times, give more power than the shop consumes. Thanks house for all the advice and I'd like to hear more advice in terms of maintenance, what to do and what not to do.

ksmart027:Being able to recharge it is not the only thing. How about how long it could take to recharge it since now the battery's capacity has been increased BUT charging capacity of the fan's internal charger remains same. Would suggest He/She gets a charger. Alternatively, if they got solar and it's 12v system, no need buying charger sef BUT that approach go bring argument |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 2:06pm On Jul 22 |
ksmart027:This will make so much sense. Mine is 18650 though. Maybe next upgrade I'll go this route. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jFrankNorfleet: 2:43pm On Jul 22 |
bassdow:Yes o. Didn't really want to do such an "expensive" setup but a friend of mine advised I do, even if I close the shop I can move those things to use in another location and it's future proof so far What are maintenance advice I need to know? |

I recently upgraded my home solar power system, moving from a 2.5kVA inverter to the Itel 4kVA Hybrid Inverter. At the same time, I replaced my old solar panels with 4 × 590W Jinko N-Type Bifacial panels, increasing my solar generation capacity to 2.36kW. To complete the upgrade, I installed a Valto 24V 320Ah (8.5kWh) LiFePO₄ battery, equipped with a JK Smart BMS for real-time battery monitoring, protection, and battery health analysis. Rather than relying solely on the manufacturer's specifications, I decided to put the entire system through real-world testing to see how it would perform in everyday use. Overnight Backup Test My first objective was to determine how long the battery could power my home without grid electricity. I disconnected from the grid at 6:08 PM and allowed the battery to supply power throughout the night. During the evening, my household load ranged between 450W and 520W, powering my Skyrun Refrigerator, One 18inch Standing fan, 55inch Tv, 3 LED lighting, Airtel Router, One 16inch Standing fan, Playstation 4. Occasionally i used the Microwave. As the night progressed around 11pm I switched off TV and PS4 and some lighting, the other appliance remained, the fridge was powered all through the night and Two Fans By 7:06 AM the following morning—after nearly 13 hours of continuous operation—the battery still had 61% charge remaining. The JK Smart BMS reported 194.2Ah remaining from the battery's rated 320Ah capacity, meaning only about 39% of the battery had been consumed overnight. One of the most impressive results was the battery's internal balance. The voltage difference between the highest and lowest cell was only 8mV, indicating excellent cell matching and a healthy battery pack. Temperatures also remained stable throughout the entire test. Solar Charging Test The next challenge was to see how efficiently the upgraded solar array could recharge the battery. Charging began at approximately 10:00 AM with the battery at 61%. Under good sunshine, the 4 × 590W Jinko N-Type bifacial panels delivered excellent performance, reaching a peak charging power of approximately 1.7kW. At that point, the battery had already reached 98%, showing that the solar array continued delivering strong charging power even as the battery approached full capacity. After about three hours of charging, the battery reached 100%, completing the recharge from 61% to full using solar energy alone. This demonstrated the effectiveness of the upgraded solar array and the charging capabilities of the Itel 4kVA Hybrid Inverter. Final Thoughts This upgrade has completely transformed my solar power system. The combination of the Itel 4kVA Hybrid Inverter, 4 × 590W Jinko N-Type Bifacial panels, and the Valto 24V 320Ah (8.5kWh) LiFePO₄ battery with JK Smart BMS has delivered excellent real-world performance. The system successfully powered my home for nearly 13 hours overnight while using less than 40% of the battery's capacity. It then recharged that energy back to 100% in about three hours under favorable sunlight, with a peak charging power of 1.7kW.

Bryanluke:Any idea if this would work for an airtel router? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 4:03pm On Jul 22 |
prince4pro2:if you already got it, no issue. Use it BUT hope you know it's just a switch, and not a breaker ? |

joseph4sales:Apart from the battery, equally priase your transformerLess inverter. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by joseph4sales: 4:33pm On Jul 22 |
bassdow:One thing i have come to appreciate is the intelligent hybrid operation of the inverter Whenever solar energy is available during the day, the inverter automatically chooses solar power to run my household loads and charge the battery. Even when grid power is available it ignores it. The inverter seamlessly manages everything in the background, using solar first and reducing dependence on the grid whenever possible |

Hmm..who's the 9japrince guy. But i can bet with you 18650 still last 5-10yrs too.. my own battery still strong and last as usual.. Do you know the person budget wey u say make he buy lifepo4 and that will cost him more for a 12v 18ah with BMS.. i just hope your 9japrince seller no later bill him up to 60-70k ksmart027: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Bryanluke: 6:24pm On Jul 22 |
Yes that's what i did.. I'm not referring him to anyone so it won't look like i want a cut from him through the person building it for him. He should check online for who can do it Unfaized: |
