Yes Atiku may be right to have thwarted Obasanjo's third term agenda, but he is too obsessed with the presidency and too desperate. Atiku will never become the Nigerian President.

Obasanjo is right. Atiku bribed the late Gali to impeach Obasanjo . We all know the truth. The idiot also made it possible for two calamities like Buhari and the drug criminal Tinubu to come in. He'll suffer for it.

Am proud of Atiku for being bold enough to say the truth , obasanjo is covertly supporting Tinubu even in the last elections, I never trusted him and I know he hates Igbos with a passion

Unfortunately, the failed Anambra godfather is too naive to be consequential and his candidacy will only make it easier for Tinubu to be reelected, just as he helped him in 2023!

It should be obvious that Kwankwaso is not focused on next election but on the one in 2031 when the northerners will have a chance, if Tinubu doesn’t get a 3rd term for life president. This is something that Obasanjo failed to achieve in 2007 because Atiku led other democratic heroes to kill the bill in the NASS.
Tinubu is a one term president

Sanctimonious Obasanjo! Always pointing fingers and absolving himself. He seems to forget that we know the amount of money that exchanged hands during the 3rd term bid. Witnesses yapa so, baba should just keep quiet.

Atiku should spare us the sermon. He brought all the recent attacks on himself by his evil and desperate attempt to tarnish the image of the country through paying lobbyist to submit frivolous allegations of an already settled case against Mr. President at the White House. Donald Trump shamed him by writing a commendation letter to President Tinubu in response and now, Obasanjo is dragging him by his ear for all the atrocities he committed against Nigeria and humanity.

So, he should stop crying and accept the stones that are being thrown at him. He is a perpetually unelectable candidate with so many baggage. From extreme corruption allegation to US Senate indictment and visa ban to being the Kachalla of fulani kidnappers and terrorists and also for dancing on the grave of Deborah, such character must never be allowed to assume the office of the President of Nigeria.
Frivolous how? Was Atiku that confiscated the money or was it Atiku that investigated Tinubu? What does Atiku have to do with a case in Chicago in 1993?

This is the turn of the South to produce the president so Atiku cannot use it to become president.

Let him go and wait till 2031!
Was it the turn of the south in 2011 when Tinubu and Obi supported Jonathan to win the election?

Was it the turn of northerners when Tinubu made Buhari president, four years after calling him expired?

Was it the turn of the south when Obasanjo got a second term because Atiku refused northern pressure to make him respect his one term promise like Mandela? 2003 was the first time that Buhari asked for the job of president and failed.

Meanwhile, do you know what category you are in the three Greek options of the OP below huh

Atiku can't wait for Obasanjo's death.
Why did Obasanjo not wait for his own AGF Bola Ige to die naturally instead of precipitating it in 201, two years before he captured southwest votes to secure his reelection?

Abi you think Baba Iyabo’s reelection would have happened without the bloc vote of the south west after Atiku rejected northern pressure to make Obasanjo honour his one term promise like Mandela? Buhari first asked for the job of president in 2003 and secured the northern votes in bloc.

You were the governor of Oyo State at the time Chief Ajibola Ige was murdered. What was your experience then?

It was a bitter experience. That very day was a Sunday. It was the day we had our Christmas carol at the Government House. It was a norman Sunday; everything was going on fine. The carol came and went from 4:15 to 6:00pm that day. And then everybody dispersed. As if I got a signal of what was coming, my speech that day was centred on security in Oyo State. I called on the Commissioner of Police and the Inspector General of Police to strengthen security in Oyo State because an old school mate, Engineer Adegeebo, had been assassinated near his house in Bodija a week earlier.

Every cleric went home and I retired to Government House. I played for some time. Then I went to my room to treat some files. I was doing that when suddenly the phone rang. It was land line we were using then. The operator said that somebody wanted to speak with me. Then I picked the call and it was a brother to my deputy. He said he was asked to tell me that Chief Bola Ige had been shot by some unknown assassins. I was confused immediately. I didn’t know what to do. But later I regained my strength and quickly went down without telling my wife what was happening. It was 9:55 pm. I sent for my PS because all the ADC and other security staff had gone to their places of abode. I told him to drive me in one of the private cars. Inside the car, I told him that Uncle Bola Ige had been shot by some gunmen, that I was going to check him at Catholic Hospital, Oluyoro. The man who informed said Ige was taken to Oluyoro.

The place I have been treading for over 60 years, I remember that I lost my way. I was just going round and round until I gained my consciousness again. Immediately the gateman saw me, he quickly opened the gate. There, we saw Uncle Dele Ige, who was already rolling on the ground. I went straight to the room where Bola Ige was lying. I saw marks of bullets on his body. He slept with his face up. He was somehow breathing but the breathing was abnormal. I saw where the bullet penetrated on the left side. I saw it myself. Uncle Bola Ige was wearing shirt and trousers. And I saw Muyiwa standing by the side of the bed. He was wailing. He appealed to me, saying: ”Uncle, please tell the doctor to wake up my Daddy. Tell him. The doctor can do it.” Then, I approached the doctor and asked him the situation. The doctor called me to one side and told me that he was dead. He said: “Sir, Your Excellency, Uncle is gone. There is nothing we can do. They shot him straight in the heart. He asked me not to tell Muyiwa.

I almost betrayed my emotion when I got back into the room where Uncle was lying with Muyiwa beside his bed. I just quickly gathered myself and told Muyiwa that I was going to see the head of the hospital. That was how I bolted away. I came back to the Government House to inform Mr. President, who was Obasanjo at that time.

By the time I was going upstairs to my room, to try and tell Operator to phone Mr. President for me, the phone was already ringing. When I got into my room, it was still ringing. I quickly picked it up and it was Obasanjo.
He the Operator said the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria wants to talk to you. Then I asked him to put him on.
The question Obasanjo just asked was: “Is he certified dead?” I said: “Yes sir.” Then he dropped the phone. That was all. That was my experience. I can never forget that experience.

If Atiku is too obsessed with the presidency and too desperate then why did he not grab power in 2003 when it was offered to him by northerners on a platter of gold?

Why did Atiku support Baba Iyabo’s reelection when northerners reminded him of his one term promise like Mandela?

ATIKU APPLIES FOR THE PRESIDENCY—BUT HIS FORMER BOSS WRITES A DAMNING TESTIMONIAL by CharlesCNG.

Atiku Abubakar’s response to former President Olusegun Obasanjo is an pathetic exercise in evasion.

Obasanjo, the man under whom Atiku served as Vice-President for eight years, has offered Nigerians what amounts to a former employer’s appraisal of his deputy. Unfortunately for Atiku, it is not a pleasant testimonial.

Imagine a man applying for the most important job in the country and announcing that his greatest qualification is his experience as Vice-President.

The interview panel then asks:

“Very good. What does the President you served under say about your character, loyalty and conduct in office?”

Suddenly, the applicant becomes angry.

He does not want the testimonial examined. He does not want his former boss questioned. He insists that the employer’s assessment is politically motivated because the employer may prefer another applicant.

That is essentially Atiku’s predicament.

Obasanjo alleged that his deputy encouraged attempts to remove him from office and gave the late Speaker Ghali Na’Abba ₦5 million to commence impeachment moves. Atiku has denied the allegation, and it must be stressed that no court has established it as fact. But instead of confronting the broader appraisal directly, Atiku’s response is built around three distractions:

Na’Abba is dead.

Obasanjo supposedly supports a kinsman.

And the allegation is intended to influence 2027.

But none of these arguments answers the central question:

What exactly was the nature of Atiku’s conduct and loyalty while serving as Obasanjo’s Vice-President?

“The grave is not a witness box” is a dramatic headline, but Na’Abba was not the only participant in that government.

Obasanjo is alive.

Atiku is alive.

Many officials who served in the Presidency, National Assembly, security services and political establishment at the time are also alive.

But Obasanjo’s possible political preference does not automatically invalidate his recollection of the government he headed.

A bad reference does not become a good reference merely because the referee may prefer another candidate.

Atiku’s strongest claim to presidential competence has always been his eight years as Vice-President. He regularly presents that period as evidence of economic experience, administrative capacity and readiness to govern.

Fair enough.

Atiku cannot claim the benefits of that employment history while rejecting the appraisal of the employer under whom the experience was acquired.

He cannot proudly display “Vice-President, 1999–2007” on his political résumé and then declare the President he served under an irrelevant, malicious stranger whenever the man discusses his conduct.

A testimonial cannot be accepted only when it praises the applicant.

This is what makes Obasanjo’s intervention politically devastating for Atiku. It does not come from an APC spokesman, a Tinubu campaign official or an opponent who observed the administration from outside.

It comes from the man who selected him, worked beside him, assigned him enormous responsibilities and witnessed his conduct at the highest level of government.

Atiku wants Nigerians to employ him as President principally because he once served as Vice-President.

But when Nigerians request a reference from the President he served, the reference letter reportedly reads like a warning notice.

That is Atiku’s real problem.

The problem is that the former boss whose administration supplies the most important entry on Atiku’s résumé appears unwilling to recommend him for the promotion he has pursued for decades.

Atiku has submitted his application for President—but his former employer’s testimonial may be the biggest reason Nigerians should return it marked: “NOT RECOMMENDED.”

He actually tried to grab power in 2003 but only to be outsmarted by baba iyabo and that forms one of the many reasons while obasanjo never supported and will not support Atiku's presidential ambitions
