How old were you when you first saw groundnut leaves? 🌿πŸ₯œ

Some of us were true city kids. πŸ˜‚

I didn't know what groundnut leaves looked like until I was 19 years old.

My husband that calls himself the Crypto Messiah of African Agriculture, who talks about agriculture with the confidence of a seasoned farmer (and even invested in a groundnut farm πŸ˜…), didn't see groundnut leaves until he was 33.

But Baby Light? At just 19 months old, she's already getting introduced to them. Talk about starting early! πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

The funny part is she keeps reaching for the groundnuts, and I'm there trying to explain that she'll have to wait until she's got enough teeth to chew them. Until then, blending is the way. πŸ˜‚

How old were you when you first saw groundnut leaves? Be honest! πŸ‘‡

Low quality education in Nigeria is the reason for your not seeing groundnut leaves till 19 years old, despite doing agricultural science in primary school and secondary school πŸ’”πŸ˜‘. Groundnut, beans are very popular specimen in schools. Education in Nigeria is more of theory than practical, it is only in Nigeria a graduate of computer science will register with roadside computer schools in order to get practical knowledge of computer science πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

That's the problem with educational standard in Nigeria. Every school should have a small garden where all these things can be cultivated.

I farmed groundnut all my life. My mother said she had the highest harvest of groundnut when she was pregnant with me to an extent those she hired tried buried some on the ground because they couldn't match up with the labour. She had to go back again to reharvest

At around age 10, I had my own groundnut farm in our compound. I didn't plant them though. Found them growing on their own and I took care of the plant. I got about 5 pieces of groundnuts during harvest. Felt like I won a lottery cheesy
