But you forgot one thing... They would already be graduates at that time.

And they have two years before the government can begin to reclaim the money and who knows, another government may come to pay off the debt like Donald Trump did for American students.

Only universities in certain region will do this nonsense.

Imagine celebrating the chains that are being put around your neck and legs.
Do they understand that it's a loan that they will eventually have to pay back?

Yiu people give this our leaders more audacity to loot more and give little to the public.
Just look at this, Because of 40k naira that they will still pay back? When people are getting scholarships and aids of over 50k dollars, that's around 70m naira for the same purpose.
You people are terrible, this purely insignificant and should be counted as a normal citizens privileges and not a favour.
And you seem learned o....chai. Anyways, it's just a stipend for monthly upkeep. It's totally free. It's bonus for those in NELFUND platform. You can fact check please

Leave them na, someone gave you loan and you're celebrating. Loan that you'll have to pay back. The US issue student loans all the time to their citizens they don't use it as a yardstick to vote a new leader because they're going to have to pay back those loans. We have problem in this country honestly.
IT'S SO IN THE USA BECAUSE IT HAS ALWAYS BE THERE. IN NIGERIA, SOMEBODY IS DOING IT NOW. MIND YOU SOME OF THESE STUDENTS MAY HAVE SUFFERED UNTOLD HARDSHIP IN THE SCHOOL. WHAT'S WRONG ABOUT BORROWING MONEY TO REPAY LATER IN LIFE WHEN YOU ARE CAPABLE TO PAY.
PLS GIVE CREDIT TO WHOM IT'SDUE AND STOP COMPARING US WITH USA.

Rigging, bribing, intimidation are out of the 2027 election strategy. We have enough projects to campaign with with less talk as our references are so visible
You are indeed very hopeless. So because of this pea nuts you called Nelfund loan or whatever, which you give students and collect it back through inflation and you feel you have done something big, that is why everyone that support APC always sounding like an slowpoke, as if their sense has been removed. How can you be bragging just because of chicken change, and you feel these students don't reason better than you? U and your tifinubu are completely useless

This is good for the hopeless Nigerian students, even if they will pay it back, it's meeting them at as the time they needed it most as a tool for achieving their dreams.

Kudos to Tinubu on this policy.
Baba, dm no dey repay shishi back. The 40 na for upkeep. Even the main loan, walahi I doubt it'll be repaid. May God spare our lives to witness the time for the repayment.

Student loan is a globally acceptable way of ensuring indigent students get university education. It is a social investment scheme that ensures no student who wants to access university education is denied simply because of funding. It is also an interest free loan that you only pay back once you are gainfully employed.

So, why try to paint such policy as bad? If it is good in the UK and US, why can’t we make it good in Nigeria?

There was nelfund before in Nigeria
It got cancelled because the beneficiaries hardly pay back
Besides, this one, the stipends were delayed for 2 months until the students cried out in the media. That's why they are doing all these skit videos to recover from the outcry from the students. I'm sure if the students didn't cry out that's how they will keep owing them

Alaye, you're seriously in pain. Pele ti e.
Those that receive the money no complain they're in fact in joyous mood...then wetin be your own. If you want a share of the cake you can go back to school and apply. I know you're adult, it's quite obvious.

Omo na Nigeria student dey hot now oo

See waiting this guy use him NELFUND upkeep do 😂 🔥👇

See how Students they express their gratitude and appreciation to President Tinubu in classic Aluta language.

Next election is btw Peter Obi and Nigerian student oo🔥👇

You people should keep promoting nonsense in the name of supporting Tinubu. Let me remind you that this is less than 20 British pounds. If he truly performed well as a President during his first tenure nobody will be online pushing 40,000 Nelfund loan videos on TikTok up north. That is too cheap a thing to do. You guys should do better instead of dragging Atiku and Obi into everything. Nigeria deserves better and should move forward.

So a moderator can no longer have an opinion on the forum? Did you give same admonition to other openly partisan moderators on NL who don't even bother hiding their affinity to Tinubu and have been severally accused by other members of having taken punitive measures against them in favour of their tin-god?

Tinubu has stripped Nigerians of every form of subsidy but the Nigerian people continue to subsidise the extravagant lifestyle of himself, family, and cronies.

P.S: Kindly refrain from seeking my validation from thread to thread by namedropping my moniker in every comment you make. Thanks.

These people call themselves students? The mow runs who cannot differenciate a loan from free money..

The corrupt govament must keep giving the 40k every month till the day of election otherwise...... Because for some of us 40k naira is not even enough to purchase a good bottle of wine.

I am guessing these so called students don't care about their futures they care only a 40k joy for this moment

So they should rather skip school because they cant afford it,how many students can you comfortably bankroll their education, you obi increased school fees by 300% with no succour what so ever that those who couldn't afford it got their ambitions derailed forever.

Typical obidient, you hate seeing Nigerians happy just because tinubu is in power, you would rather the grief and stay angry all the time because you feel that will help your obi emerge.
