You are the one that’s most concerned about the Anambra second airport even when you are not from Anambra. You are everywhere on the cyberspace including Facebook crying as if you have something else you are not telling us. What’s your business with what Anambra is building? Are you more knowledgeable than a professor of economist and a former CBN governor? Soludo is on track with his projects and the airport is ongoing and not amount of deception here can change it. There’s nothing Otti is doing that should be copied by Soludo, instead Otti should come learn work from Soludo. You can never compare a state like Ebonyi like Anambra. Economic size of Anambra is almost 100 times bigger than that of Ebonyi. The purchasing power of Anambra is more than 100 times higher than that of Ebonyi. While Ebonyi should pursue human capital development and educational development instead of airport and flyovers, while Anambra should continue to advance its economy through provision of more enabling infrastructure like airport, bridges, flyovers, expansion of more roads, etc. So there’s no basis for such comparison between these states. Anambra is the economic capital of the eastern Nigeria and deserves all the major infrastructural development like the Aerotropolis, industrial city, etc Cjrane2: |

Anambra Aerotropolis international airport is already 30% done, so all these are just grammar. You are asking how much it takes to build an airport? Obiano built Anambra airport within two years. The second airport will even be delivered in under two years with speed they are building. I have never seen you guys question why should Abia even build an airport at all since it’s with 30mins distance to Imo state airport. Ebonyi wasted billions building airport, but none of you took it serious to question why would Ebonyi even attempt to build airport. But some of you at the time were here hyping Umahi as the best thing to happen to Ebonyi state. It was clear from the beginning that Ebonyi airport won’t work because we already know their economc status. Imo and Enugu state airports are not the major southeast airports as you mentioned. All the three airports in Anambra, Enugu and Imo are all major in their respective place, the only difference is that Anambra own is the most modern as it is the newest. Anambra second airport will serve Anambra industrial city being built close to the airport, large population in Anambra south is also another boost to the airport, the airport is also strategically located in an area that’s in close proximity to the neighbouring Enugu, Imo and Abia state. Anambra is not interested in any state creation or partitioning. There’s no part of Anambra that’s interested in joining any new state. Leave Anambra out of any state creation because it won’t work. Soludo is interested in advancing the state more far from what he met on assumption of office. You are not more knowledgeable than a professor of economics, former consultant to world bank, for CBN governor etc. Cjrane2: |

Thank you for your insight. The guy you mentioned is not from Anambra but he is most concerned about projects going on in Anambra. These concerns are not of love but veiled envy because they have seen where Anambra is going, but they have failed in their scheme, because the whole noise will only be on this thread. Eboofa: |

Your opinion doesn’t matter because even when Obiano was building the first airport you were here deceiving yourself. By the time the airport was completed, you switched to another moniker to hide your shame. Get ready to switch to another moniker. abuzz33: |

More on the pathetic state of power. According to online stats the whole of the South East has less than 2m electricity customers and receives 300MW from the National Grid. To see the scale of power insufficiency contrast with countries with similar population as SE Nigeria (25-30m) Senegal - pop 20m - 1.9GW or x6 Ghana - pop 35m - 5.26GW or x18 Zambia - pop 22m - 3.5GW or x10 Cameroon - pop 30m - 2GW or x6.5 Then you get to the rest of the world to see how backward Africa is: Malaysia - pop 34m - 25GW or x80 Venezuela - pop 28m - 12GW or x40 Poland - pop 37m - 30GW or x100 Anambra at best gets less than 80MW out of the entire electricity allocated across 4 states. To anyone with sound mind that is a disasterous crisis that you only see in wartorn countries. Yet none of the last 3 state governors has addressed power as a constraint because as long as there is enough power in government house and in their mansions nothing spoil. The Tinubu administration gave state governments a lifeline out from the mess that is the national grid by devolving power to states. Power can now be generated, transmitted and distributed within states. But where is Anambras strategy? Imo is completing the abandoned 375MW Egbema power plant and supplying 100MW to Owerri alone. Enugu has announced the construction of a 660MW coal-fired power plant. Anambra? Soludo is dualizing roads that see little traffic, planning airport when existing one lacks traffic. He claims to be building Anambra 2.0 but the most critical he cannot see. I urge the state government to wake up and start catalyzing power investments. Start with solar mini grids to supply areas like government quarters, schools, hospitals, business districts. Design industrial layouts properly with UNIDO, Chinese government not on political grounds but economic ones with power plant components. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by BeautifulMind2: 7:55am On Jul 29 |
abuzz33:Bitterness same you was yabbing Anambra state of having tiny roads, hypocrisy now Soludo has awarded dualization 12 roads so far, same you complaining that the roads are less traffic Anu, your usele..ss opinion end here, you are blind to see power projects that Soludo has achieved, the Sub-station at Ogboji industrial city, Anambra State partnered with Shell Energy Nigeria to transition industries from costly diesel to natural gas. The initiative, tied to the Anambra Gas Master Plan, delivers steady, affordable, and clean energy to industrial hubs in Nnewi, Onitsha, Awka, and Nkpor. Soludo's administration made it possible for Anambra State to be integrated into the national gas infrastructure framework following the finalization of the state's own Gas Master Plan and major energy stakeholder forums.

abuzz33:You keep complaining here while Anambra is leading the pack in the region
|
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by abuzz33: 11:57am On Jul 29 |
BeautifulMind2:When you lead with a personal attack it shows how you lack facts to form a credible argument. Dualizing roads makes sense for population centers not remote towns. Ever gone from Nnobi to Nnewi? Thats a lonely road. The UK is filled with one lane roads that they dont dualize bevause its not worth it. Secondly, Gas masterplan is just a PLAN. Soludo also has a rail MASTERPLAN and many other plans collecting dust. We are talking implementation and you are showing us plans. Here's the reality. Plans cost money. To connect Anambra to the Nigerian gas network will cost $10m per kilometer or 14 billion naira. Do the math from the nearest route into Onitsha to Awka you are talking trillions of naira. Its not a state project. Its a federal project or an NNPC project. The best is that what Anambra should be doing is partnering with Imo/Abis and building transmission lines with interconnectors to take power into the state. Alaoji power plant can be expanded to 1,000MW as can Egbema to 750MW. These plants belong to NDPHC which has FGN and states as shareholders. Anambra can be an offtaker buying power and injecting it into the state. Transmission lines are far cheaper than gas pipelines. Ideally, the SE states of Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi should create a regional transmission grid company to run across these five states to wheel power from power plants in the gas basin to major cities. They could also co invest in power plant expansion which can be funded with bonds. |

Leave Anambra alone and focus on your state. We don’t need your advise, keep your advise to your state. Enugu is announcing! Imo is announcing! Which one have they built? Just media propaganda. Anambra is still doing far better than all of them in all indicators of development. Soludo is delivering on the goals and Anambra has maintained lead as the most developed Igbo state. You are wasting your time here, just know the first airport was completed, the second one is also being completed. Prepare to switch to another account lol. Everyone can see clearly that you are just jealous, so all the dualization of roads all over Anambra is now an issue too? This man is known for always coming here to discourage every good project in Anambra. But my happiness is that you are cornered in this thread, you opinion ends here while the real thing are happening out there in Anambra lol You are busy listing power generation by other countries, why not list the ones Nigeria as a country has completed. You now see that you guys are jittery, threatened and scared that the gap Anambra is going to give you guys at the completion of the second airport and other support infrastructures will be massive. That’s why you are here sleeping day and night trying to confuse yourself. Everyone can see Anambra Aerotropolis international airport is a done deal. Just wait for pictures here haha abuzz33: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 8:18pm On Jul 29 |
Anambra is the most developed Igbo state and ongoing state wide road dualization will further advance the state and continue to decentralize development. Today Anambra has the most dualised roads in southeast. Anambra doesn’t need to partner with Imo or Abia for any project. Anambra doesn’t need them because Anambra is a monolithic state under the federation to do what’s best for it. Keep your advise to yourself, we ain’t interested in it. Your opinion is just here and doesn’t go out of this place. Anambra second airport is ongoing. So go and plan a future obstruction of any upcoming project, for this airport, you came late haha abuzz33: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 8:21pm On Jul 29 |
Haha That’s to tell you that what is happening now is that these guys are jittery, threatened and scared that the second airport will create a big gap between Anambra and other southeast states. They only want all the southeast states to keep growing at the same rate, anyone that wants to outgrow too much is drawn aback by their rhetoric of partnership. As if it’s in good faith. It’s all strategy, my happiness is that Soludo knows the game and playing it very well. BeautifulMind2: |

abuzz33:It is very clear that this project is intended primarily to facilitate the looting of public funds. Otherwise, why can't Governor Soludo upgrade the already completed and functional Chinua Achebe International Airport? Apart from the airports in Lagos and Abuja, no airport in Nigeria currently meets the standards of a truly world-class airport. Anybody who has traveled to Europe, Asia or South America will attest to this fact. Recognizing that even Lagos and Abuja airports are still substandard compared to airports globally, the Federal Government has continued to invest in upgrading the Lagos and Abuja airport facilities rather than spending scarce resources on building additional mushroom airports in Abuja or Lagos. Why, then, can't Governor Soludo upgrade Chinua Achebe International Airport to the same standard as even the airports in Lagos, Abuja, Port harcourt or Kano instead of constructing another mushroom airstrip that may never be completed? He has about 3+ years left in office. For someone with Governor Soludo's academic credentials to pursue this course of action raises serious questions about the project's true motivation. It is difficult to understand this decision as anything other than one driven by personal greed. For this reason, many concerned and well-meaning Anambrarians, including myself, have taken note of the following website: https://efcc.gov.ng/ We shall carefully document and gather evidence of any public funds wasted on this project, particularly if it is eventually abandoned. Given the information already available, it should be possible to determine whether this expenditure was justified, especially when the existing Chinua Achebe International Airport that is under-performing due to lack of adequate facilities could have been upgraded for the benefit of the state with much less funds.

Gbogboski:Reputable Sources show that Soludo can very well afford to build a 250MW power plant and a 5,000 bpd refinery even without partnering with the private sector. So why wouldn't he rather focus on these game-changing projects rather than waste money on what is no longer needed by ndigbo?

You are all over the social media crying over this project. I saw you on Facebook posting the same tantrums. Go and focus on your state. Your state has a lot of issues that you should report to efcc but everyday you camp here to deceive yourself. This airport is already done deal. You cannot stop it by crying here. We don’t need your advise to decide on what we want as a state. Anambra second airport has come to stay. I have never seen you worried about your delta state that receive 2nd largest allocation in Nigeria with almost nothing to show for it. Concerned and well meaning Anambra people are in support of the airport. So stop crying here. You have to even join the same Mktinsight you once fought over the first airport. All of you are the same. We don’t need you people’s advice on anything concerning Anambra continued development and advancement. Cjrane2: |

Anambra: Building the Hub Nigeria Needs Anambra is a hub state by design, not by accident. Look at the map. We sit at the center of the Southeast, South-South, and North-Central. We have the manufacturing base, the trading networks, and now, the logistics ambition. But if we do not build the structures to match this status, the future will be chaotic. A hub without rightly placed infrastructure collapses under its own weight. By location alone, it is positioned to become the busiest airport east of the Niger. It is not a standalone project. It is the aviation anchor of the Aerotropolis, and it sits directly beside the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City, AMIC, already approved by the FG as an Economic Free Trade Zone. That is the difference between an airport built as a monument and one built as an economic node. This is what it unlocks: Businessmen in Orlu, Imo will have no reason to commute over 45 minutes from Owerri Airport to his base. Traders in Oji River and Udi, Enugu will bypass Akanu Ibiam. Communities in Isuochi, Umunneochi, and parts of Okigwe now have a closer, more efficient gateway. Three of the four new cities Anambra is developing will be directly served by this airport. This is not guesswork. It is planning. Anambra’s Vision 2070 projects about 35 million people living here by 2070. With our natural land constraints, we cannot afford to wait until then to provide critical infrastructure. We have to lay it now. The concerns raised are valid. But they were taken into account before this airport was conceived. This is not about prestige. It is about positioning. The plan is clear. Soludo is intentional about laying the foundations for the Anambra of the future!

Beyond road construction, Governor Alex Otti continues to invest in strategic infrastructure projects aimed at transforming Abia State's economy and improving public services. Following the completion of the Prof. Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, work has commenced on a larger, world-class bus terminal in Aba. The administration is also pursuing the development of a seaport at Obuaku to facilitate the import and export of goods, enhance trade, and support businesses operating in Abia State. Yet, Abia receives lower federal allocation than Anambra. Official FAAC allocation records for the first half of 2026 show that both Anambra and Imo received higher allocations than Abia. The real difference in Abia's performance lies not only in the amount of revenue available but in how those resources are managed. Effective leadership, prudent financial management, and a strong commitment to transparency and accountability are essential for translating public funds into visible development projects. I particularly feel disappointed in Soludo because I massively campaigned for him believing that he was a prudent person. So if he stubbornly wastes Anambra's resources in building 1 or 2 abandoned "airports", he should remember that after 17 March 2030, our people will use the Freedom of Information Act to demand for how much was wasted on those smokescreen projects used for looting. The era when people stubbornly looted state resources and called it "by-gones" when they left office is over. If Soludo prefers to build 2 or even 3 more mushroom airstrips instead of helping Anambra to develop industrially and create good-paying jobs through building railway line to connect Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and Aguleri, or building gas-power plants and refineries he should go ahead. We shall also do what must be done to enthrone good and transparent leaders who treat the state's money the way they wouldn't waste their own personal money. Our Governors no longer view impeachment as an impossible outcome because we have instances where it happened in Nigeria. Similarly, that example of ensuring a former Southeast governor goes to jail for corruption and misappropriated public funds is a critical example for our democratic journey, that must happen for our people to also learn that a breach of trust in misappropriating public money entrusted unto them is indeed a punishable crime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yT8TUWpmWY FAAC Allocation Data Sources: 1. Hahahaha You one wan kee himself upon this new ongoing airport project. The fact that you are not from Anambra but you are more worried than Anambra people is an indication that Soludo is doing the right thing. My happiness is that you are cornered in this thread. You are suddenly comparing Anambra with a state like Abia. Anambra has higher overall dual carriageways than Abia state. Anambra already got an airport but Abia has none yet. Ekwulobia looks more like a state capital than Umuahia courtesy of Soludo. Transformation done and still ongoing in Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and all over Anambra. I can go on and on. Now let’s go over your Delta state. Your state is the third largest allocation receiver in Nigeria, but we can actually see next to nothing about the state. Asaba is still a glorified village full of dilapidated roads. Go to Uyo and see what they have done with the same oil wealth. Can you sincerely compare Akwaibom with Delta state? Answer is No. Akwaibom is by far more developed and have far better infrastructures than Delta. Akwaibom even have power plant, completed new airport terminal, building seaport, etc. what has your Delta state done with their allocation? You are talking about rail line? Has your state connected Asaba to Warri with rail line? Why are you telling others to do what that hasn’t been done in your state? lol I told you to look for something else to tackle, because as for this airport, you came late to it lol Soludo was so smart to have started the airport project with no noise, because he knew their are so much envious states surrounding Anambra. AsomughaChuks02:It will be a good thing if Soludo will complete the airport as Obiano did, otherwise a lot of questions must be answered. Obiano knew airport construction was not a tea party so he went there every week with teams of invited people including traditional rulers, the clergy and even Burutai and showed videos proving he was serious about completing the project. Soludo has not shown any of that level of seriousness or transparency with his own audio airport project It is very very clear that Soludo and his urchins want to use the airport as a smokescreen to loot. If work were indeed going on, he would have been sharing the pictures the way he did during the Awka to Ekwulobia road. But aside from showing caterpillars clearing a small piece of land that isn’t up to 100 meters squared, there is no picture of anything. Making long speeches with very little achievement is Soludo’s style. If Soludo had completed all his key projects he started 4 years ago, like the Awka ICC hotel, then there would be no current fears that he also plans to abandon this airfield after purportedly squandering billions in it. Even the Enugu ICC hotel is already nearing completion, yet it started many months after Soludo’s Awka ICC hotel foundation piling was completed. Even the jinxed Presidential Hotel Enugu has since been completed. Unlike Soludo, Peter Mbah has a quiet discipline of focusing, giving less empty talks and completing his projects to show he has a strategic vision of where he is taking his state. Unlike Soludo’s trial and error style of starting one big talk about a project today, hype it to high heaven’s, and quietly abandoning it tomorrow. Then quickly jumps into another empty talk about something else. Soludo’s style of talk talk talk with very little real achievement is very very worrisome. After a lot of talk, he quietly abandons the project and shifts to another one. When people raise concern about this lack of focus, he calls on jobless hoodlums like Chino to insult them. Well the jobless Chino knows from my history here that I neither respond to him nor change my opinion due to his insults. I am glad that Soludo has recently gone back to reconstructing main market after months that we feared he had abandoned that one too, after all the long talk talk talk and 3D pictures. We are fervently praying that the final structure of the Onitsha main market resembles the 3D drawings he boasted would be the new Onitsha main market. All I can say is that if it is an airport in Aguata that Soludo thinks is the most strategic developmental project he could do, then he should do it and ensure it is at least of Obiano’s airport standard, with at least 3.5km runway to accommodate wide bodied cargo planes. If he abandons that project after spending state resources there as he abandoned the Anambra ICC 5-star hotel, my lawyers will personally submit an EFCC petition for a full investigation into this strange airport project, and proper punishment to be dished for wholesale financial indiscipline. |
