givedemwotowoto:Nice tutelage @Givedemwotowoto, to that 3-dimples disciple who doesn't understand the difference between loyalty to a country and loyalty to a government due to tribal or religious sentiments! |

There might be issues on both sides. He possibly took some shortcuts that he couldn't abroad, but corrupt officials saw him as a lick and figured they could cash out, rinse, and repeat. Best thing to do is to do everything by-the-book and get all your documents in order. That way, if it goes sideways, you can round everyone up. That said, some small businessmen opt for other countries in West Africa precisely to avoid funny business. They rave about how they have none of the issues in neighboring countries that they do in Nigeria. |

This is sad but when you build your business in an area where you don't have legal documents or backing, this is bound to happen. No amount of temptation will make me build a business in an area where it would be demolished later. |

As a Nigerian in the diaspora investing back home, there's always that moment when you question your own sanity for doing so. Anyone who has genuinely tried to invest in Nigeria can relate, except, perhaps, those with connections to the government of the day. |
